Meet the fluffiest member of our team: Ollie Rose! 🐾 She’s our visiting therapy dog and a total expert at making our students (and staff!) smile. When she’s not helping out in the clinic, you can find her rolling in the grass or hunting for her favorite snack—hot dogs! We’re so lucky to have her gentle spirit and wagging tail as part of Bista.

Occupational therapy doesn’t have to stop when you leave the clinic! You can build independence right at home by turning morning routines into practice for self-care, grooming, and dressing. Even simple tasks like toothbrushing are great ways to work on precision and sensory tolerance in a natural setting.

The BISTÅ Center is a non-profit organization that offers individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. ABA is the leading research-based treatment recommended for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. ABA has been endorsed by the U.S. Surgeon General.
When families receive a new diagnosis for their child, it is often unclear where to turn for help and information. The BISTÅ Center provides families with information on available services and how to begin the treatment process. Research has proven that intensive early intervention can significantly improve necessary life skills that each child needs to be successful and take part in their family, school, and community.
Treatment packages are based on initial and ongoing assessments and include individualized skill acquisition programming, problem behavior reduction, and parent training.The BISTÅ Center also offers social groups throughout the week after school hours.
ABA takes place in the clinic in order to work on group social skills, language and communication, as well as as basic school readiness. Each child has a one-to-one provider in order to address individualized social goals. Each child will work with a consistent and familiar clinical team.
A board certified behavior analyst (BCBA) will oversee and supervise each child and their clinical team. The BISTÅ Center requires all become a registered behavior technician (RBT)during their initial training.
You are not alone, The BISTÅ Center will work with families every step of the way, offering financial assistance, verifying and coordinating benefits with insurance companies, and family collaboration about treatment priorities.
