Exciting news for the Tucson community! Bista’s Marana clinic has openings available for children to join our Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program. If you're looking for focused, quality therapy to help your child grow their communication, independence, and social skills, we are ready to partner with you!

☀️ Cailin Ockert (MS, BCBA, LBA), Executive Director:

Cailin has worked with individuals with developmental disabilities since 2005 and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. A specialist in social skills programming (she founded Bista's weekly social skills group!), Cailin's research background includes studying the effects of exercise on behavior and academic accuracy.

🧡 Emily E. Nuño (M.Ed., BCBA, LBA), Clinical Director:

Emily is a dedicated BCBA with a Master's in Education, focused on evidence-based strategies since 2009. Her research, recently presented at ABAI, focused on using PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) to increase communication and decrease problem behavior—highlighting her commitment to functional communication.

🙌 Matthew LeVac (MS, OTR/L), Director of Therapy:

Matthew is a licensed Occupational Therapist and Assistive Technology Specialist. He's passionate about using his expertise to create unique AT solutions with 3D printing and bridges the gap between technology and therapy as the Arizona Chapter Leader for Makers Making Change.

Our story

The BISTÅ Center is a non-profit organization that offers individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. ABA is the leading research-based treatment recommended for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. ABA has been endorsed by the U.S. Surgeon General.

When families receive a new diagnosis for their child, it is often unclear where to turn for help and information. The BISTÅ Center provides families with information on available services and how to begin the treatment process. Research has proven that intensive early intervention can significantly improve necessary life skills that each child needs to be successful and take part in their family, school, and community.

Treatment packages are based on initial and ongoing assessments and include individualized skill acquisition programming, problem behavior reduction, and parent training.The BISTÅ Center also offers social groups throughout the week after school hours.

ABA takes place in the clinic in order to work on group social skills, language and communication, as well as as basic school readiness. Each child has a one-to-one provider in order to address individualized social goals. Each child will work with a consistent and familiar clinical team.
