We focus on whole-person wellness, our offerings include primary care, mental health services, HIV/STI testing and treatment, and much more. Founded in 1990 as Phoenix Body Positive and later known as the Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS, Prisma Community Care was established by and for individuals living with and affected by HIV/AIDS, including their families and partners. To everyone in our community celebrating, we wish you a joyful Kwanzaa.

Kwanzaa honors African and African American heritage, family, and the seven principles known as the Nguzo Saba, including unity and collective work and responsibility. These values reflect the heart of community care and the importance of showing up for one another.

At Prisma, we carry these principles forward by advancing health equity and providing affirming, stigma free care, especially for Black patients and families who continue to face disproportionate barriers to health and wellness. Your support helps us live out these values and build a healthier, more just Arizona for all.

At Prisma, our care is only possible because of the people who show up every day with compassion and deep respect for our community. Today, we are spotlighting a member of our care team whose work reflects what Prisma stands for.

Patients often share that they feel safe, seen, and able to be fully honest in their care here. That trust does not happen by accident. It is built through affirming relationships and a commitment to meeting people where they are.

Your prescriptions do more than fill a pill bottle.

When you get primary care at Prisma and fill your meds through our Trusted Pharmacy partners, you’re part of a powerful loop:
🔁 You get affirming, judgment-free care
🔁 Your prescriptions stay connected to your care team
🔁 Savings are reinvested back into patient care, like sliding-fee visits, testing supplies, + more

It’s one of the ways we help keep care accessible for people who are uninsured, underinsured, or facing high out-of-pocket costs.

One year ago, we became Prisma Community Care. While our name and look evolved, our commitment to providing affirming, stigma free healthcare has stayed the same and grown stronger.

Over the past year, we have expanded integrated primary, mental, and sexual health services, welcomed more community members through our doors, and continued building a space where everyone belongs.

We are proud of how far we have come, deeply grateful to our community, and excited for what is ahead. Thank you for being part of our first year as Prisma.
