7 years self-harm free. That’s the milestone. And every year I get to say that number out loud, I think about what actually made it possible.

People hear “routines” and think planners. Productivity. Getting more done. But my routines have never just been about that. They’ve been about stability. Giving myself something solid to stand on when everything inside me feels unstable.

My morning workout isn’t just for my body. The journaling isn’t just to clear my head. The affirmations and mirror talk aren’t just an exercise. Every single habit I built is an act of choosing myself — on the days I want to and especially on the days I don’t.

That’s what living like your Dream Girl really looks like. A life with enough structure holding it together that the hard days don’t take you all the way out. Something solid to return to, every single time.

And this is exactly what I see happen with my clients. They come to me thinking they need a better schedule. What they find is that the right routines start doing something deeper: regulating their nervous system, rebuilding their self-trust, giving them real evidence that they can show up for themselves. The structure becomes the foundation their Dream Girl stands on.

Janessa really thought she was the problem.

She was doing the job of two people and not getting paid for it. Flaking on her friends even though she wanted to see them. Trying to stay on top of everything, but constantly feeling like she was behind and failing.

That’s the part I know resonates.

Because a lot of you are moving like this right now.

Busy. Responsible. Kind of getting things done.

But your life doesn’t actually support you, so everything feels harder than it needs to be.

With “Bad Gyal J” (what she named her Dream Girl 💁🏾‍♀️), we looked at her mornings and nights—where her time and energy were actually going.

And when we adjusted that, everything shifted.

She had more energy. She was showing up for her friends again. She got the pay increase she was owed. And she was dating with confidence.

But more than anything, she felt like she had a handle on her life again.

And that part matters.

I absolutely recorded this for myself, but figured maybe you might need it too.

Spring has sprung… and your wild ass self-talk needs to too.

Because why are we walking into a new week already planning our downfall? 🥴

Why are we welcoming in spring already talking ourselves out of the very life we say we want?

That mindset right there… that’s the setup.

This spring I’m challenging myself to stop pre-failing in my head and actually give my life a fair shot.

To move like things will work out for me…
To follow through even when it’s inconvenient…
To stop treating doubt like it’s truth…

Because I’m not doing another season where I talk myself out of everything I’ve prayed for.

Okay, let’s nip this in the bud.

Your routine should not look like anybody else’s. It should look like yours.

And that’s exactly what I’m teaching in the Built Like a Dream Girl Masterclass on March 16.

A couple weeks ago I posted some of the things that could be found in my morning routine, and some of y’all decided it was too long.

And that’s fine, because I built it for me, not for you. Lol.

It doesn’t matter if your morning routine is 15 minutes or two hours.

If it helps you set the intention for your day,
If it helps reduce your anxiety,
If it sets you up for success with your goals…

that’s what matters.

And for those of you who don’t even have a morning routine and prefer to raw-dog your day, come to class next Monday.

You keep forgetting who you are, boo. And I need you to believe me when I say you’re everything.

The issue isn’t your ability. It’s the way you second guess how amazing you are, then turn around and accept the bare minimum like it’s all that’s available. It’s not.

Do you see the disconnect?

You are not plain white rice.
You’re jollof rice cooked to perfection, the pot everybody is fighting over, the dish that shifts the whole table the moment it arrives.

And deep down, you know that.
You feel that version of you tapping you on the shoulder, asking you to stop acting like you are less than what you are.
She wants to take up space.
She wants to choose herself on purpose.
