The MiBo is designed to improve the function of the meibomian glands, which are tiny oil glands located along the eyelid margins. These glands secrete the lipid (oil) layer of the tear film, which helps prevent tears from evaporating too quickly. When the glands are blocked or not producing oil properly, patients experience evaporative dry eye.
