What do you think the answer is to this?

A caloric deficit WILL help you lose weight, and it is what you need to do!

Most people I hear say they are on this or that diet & that they've lost weight!

So does the scale move? Yes.

However, in MOST cases, that scale goes right back to where they started after people choose to STAY in a deficit. (which in my opinion you shouldn't really focus on a scale, but I'll leave that for another time lol)

Why is it that staying in a caloric deficit not great in the long run? Well like most diets, it's hard to maintain past a certain point.

And if you continuously eat in a deficit your metabolism will slow down, so that once you were to eat past that deficit you will gain weight because your body has become accustomed to the lesser amount of calories.

Yes eating in a deficit will help you in your weight loss journey, but what you will want to focus on is building MUSCLE so that your calorie needs INCREASE, and you don't have to deprive yourself to lose/maintain your progress.

Fill your body with nutrients!

For most of my meals, I try to choose healthy options like this meal here.

Low carb, plenty of healthy fats! & lots of greens.
Don't get me wrong I love a good "cheat meal", however, I am all for nutrient-dense first and foremost!

When you take the time to NOURISH your body, you will run more optimally.

In case you haven't already done it today, here is a reminder to appreciate your body and all it does for you!

If you don't take the time to do this for yourself, you will just find yourself feeling frustrated with your fitness journey. Enjoy the process, and take note of ALL the progress you are making with your body both physically and mentally!

Mobility and core training are a crucial part of any workout routine because it prepares our bodies for the stress of training or just dealing with our regular daily activities. It is essential for reducing the risk of injuries as well as improving in exercise techniques and range of motion. Developing your posture can help get rid of back pain, improve your balance, coordination, and flexibility. I've created a FREE 15-Minute Mobility Workout Guide to help with just that! This guide is designed to work with the busiest of schedules! Take a few minutes out of your day to burn some calories and release stress while improving your range of motion!

Click the link in my bio to download the Free Guide and drop a comment below after you give it a try - I'd love to hear from you! 😁

Balanced health is more than cutting calories, push-ups, and reaching your "ideal" weight. Don't get me wrong, these things are useful and self-discipline is good to have but I believe in holistic training which involves bringing balance to physical, nutritional, and emotional/mental health when it comes to fitness. No matter where you are in your fitness journey, I want you to learn to love your body and what it can do! Being fit is not about comparing your body or abilities with others, it's about making the best choices for your body to be the best version of YOURSELF. Some days that means pushing yourself, some days that means allowing your body to rest, and no matter what appreciate the body you have. πŸ€—
