Jamie Surya Yoga Studio In September of 2012, Jamie Surya set out to create a yoga studio where everyone who walked in felt like family coming home. Christophers Inn, and many more!

Fearlessly, she poured her heart and soul into creating her dream and without any expectations, she waited to see who would show up to class.

The Jamie Surya Yoga Studio offers a variety of classes each day to fit everybody's needs. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned practitioner, there is a chance for development here. Our studio has teachers trained to support people with Traumatic Brain Injury, and offer Trauma Sensitive Yoga, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders and substance abuse. Teaching because of their love for the practice, your teachers offer a supportive and encouraging environment where you never feel judged or forced to be anything but yourself. The Jamie Surya Yoga Studio has a well-known Yoga Teacher Training program which certifies students each year to become Yoga teachers. Each year we raise thousands of dollars for organizations like the Center for Safety and Change, the Babies Heart Fund, Hi-Tor Animal Shelter, Love Your Brain, St.

Experience the benefits of Yoga Nidra, a guided meditation practice designed to bring you into a state of deep relaxation and awareness, and sound healing with crystal singing bowls. Often referred to as “yogic sleep,” Yoga Nidra is a powerful tool for reducing stress, calming the nervous system, and promoting physical and emotional healing. In this practice, you’ll be gently guided through layers of consciousness, allowing you to rest deeply while staying present. Accessible to all, Yoga Nidra requires no prior experience and can be practiced lying down or seated comfortably.

Last week’s Strength & Balance class had us working hard 🤗 We’ve decided to extend the class to a full hour and move the start time earlier.

💛 New time: 5:00–6:00pm (instead of 5:30–6:15)

Join us TONIGHT in Piermont with .surya as we focus on:
• Core & hip strength
• Balance work using the wall
• Arms & shoulders (new this week!)

This class is accessible for ALL levels and ages. You’re always encouraged to:
• Take breaks
• Do 5 reps instead of 10
• Add a resistance band if you want more challenge

This is not a fitness class, but a space designed to support a safer yoga practice and improve everyday movement. As we age, the risk of falling increases, and falls are one of the leading causes of injury. At the same time, osteoporosis becomes more common, making fractures more likely. Building and maintaining strength through mindful movement is one of the most effective ways to support bone health, balance, and long-term mobility!

Have you heard about our new class starting on Thursday, January 15th?! 🤩 Strength & Balance is a new class with .surya that is a class designed to support a strong, sustainable yoga practice and confident movement in daily life.

A central focus of this class is balance and proprioception–our body’s ability to sense where it is in space. As we age, our risk of falling increases, and falls are one of the leading causes of injury. At the same time, the risk of osteoporosis also rises, making fractures more likely. Building and maintaining strength through intentional movement is one of the most effective ways to help keep our bones and body strong and healthy.

Rather than focusing on flowing sequences or poses on their own, this class targets the key areas that help us move safely: the core, hips, legs, arms, and shoulders. Classes are open to all practitioners and thoughtfully structured so everyone can work at their own level. Options are always offered, with the choice to incorporate resistance bands for those ready to add an extra layer of strength building.

Through targeted and purposeful movement, this class works to improve stability, coordination, and confidence while supporting bone health and injury prevention. This is a must-take class for anyone who wants to feel stronger, steadier, and more supported in their yoga practice and daily life. You will feel the difference in your body, your balance, and the way you move both on and off the mat.

Echo & Embody: a Somatic Sound Journey with Robin Roppo .roppo.wellness 💛 Sunday, Jan. 11th 3-5pm 💛 PIERMONT Studio - 222 Ash St. Piermont

Echo and Embody is a gentle, immersive experience that weaves somatic movement, guided meditation, and a sound journey into a spacious container for deep rest and reconnection. Participants are invited to slow down, attune to the body’s natural rhythms, and notice how sensation, breath and sound echo through the nervous system.

Across the workshop, you will explore simple, accessible somatic practices and gentle, intuitive movements to release tension, followed by restorative shapes supported with props, while live soundscapes from instruments such as crystal bowls and chimes support your practice and the body’s innate capacity to self-regulate. There will be time for reflective stillness, journaling or quiet integration, and a closing sound bath to seal in the experience.

This workshop is suitable for all levels, including those new to yoga or movement, and is especially supportive for anyone seeking nervous system regulation, stress relief, or a gentle reintroduction to embodied presence. Participants are encouraged to wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring any favorite props, eye pillows, or blankets for added comfort as well as a journal if you would like to compile your reflections.
