Black History Month is a reminder that Black excellence isn’t just history, it’s leadership in real time.

Fightress Aaron, MBA, MS, LPC, NCC is the founder and owner of New Beginnings Counseling (NBC), Pike Road’s first Black woman-owned mental health group practice. For nearly a decade, NBC has supported the mental health needs of clients in our community and beyond with care that is intentional, culturally responsive, and clinically grounded.

A true leader is only as strong as the team they build and the people they serve. Fightress leads with purpose and compassion, believing in investing in the well-being of her team so they can show up with excellence for every client.

As a mother of three and a world traveler who homeschools her children, she understands the weight many high-functioning women carry while still trying to build the life they deserve. NBC was created to be a safe, high-quality space to exhale, heal, and grow.

We’re excited to welcome Ashley Moncrief, LPC as the newest member of the New Beginnings Counseling clinical team providing support to our clients.

Ashley supports adults who are tired of holding everything together while feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally drained. Many of her clients come to therapy navigating chronic stress, low mood, or major life transitions and are ready for steady, meaningful support.

Ashley helps clients better understand their emotions, break unhelpful patterns, and build practical coping tools so they can feel more grounded, clear, and emotionally steady in daily life.

She is now accepting new clients for in-person therapy in Pike Road, Alabama, and virtual therapy for clients anywhere in Alabama.
