We’re excited to welcome Ashley Moncrief, LPC as the newest member of the New Beginnings Counseling clinical team providing support to our clients.

Ashley supports adults who are tired of holding everything together while feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally drained. Many of her clients come to therapy navigating chronic stress, low mood, or major life transitions and are ready for steady, meaningful support.

Ashley helps clients better understand their emotions, break unhelpful patterns, and build practical coping tools so they can feel more grounded, clear, and emotionally steady in daily life.

She is now accepting new clients for in-person therapy in Pike Road, Alabama, and virtual therapy for clients anywhere in Alabama.

If you’ve been carrying a lot and talk therapy feels like it’s not reaching the “stuck” places, Brainspotting may be worth exploring.

Brainspotting is a trauma-informed therapy that helps access and process emotional pain stored deep in the brain and body.

By identifying specific eye positions connected to distress, Brainspotting supports the brain’s natural ability to process: often with less talking and more internal awareness.

Fightress Aaron, LPC offers Brainspotting sessions at New Beginnings Counseling with early morning, evening, night, and weekend availability.

Text Brainspotting to 334-293-1411 or visit www.nbcounselingllc.com/contact to schedule a consultation.

If certain memories still feel “stuck” (in your mind or your body), EMDR may be a supportive next step.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process traumatic memories so they no longer cause distress in the present.

Fightress Aaron, LPC provides EMDR therapy at New Beginnings Counseling, specializing in helping high-achieving women and mothers find deep healing.

TEXT EMDR to 334-293-1411 or visit www.nbcounselingllc.com/contact to schedule a consultation to see if this is a good fit for you. We offer early morning, evening, night, and weekend availability.

Ever feel like you’ve “talked it out”… but your body still reacts like it’s happening all over again?

That’s where EMDR can be different.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) helps your brain do what it naturally wants to do: file painful memories in the past: so they stop hijacking the present.

Here’s the simple version:
• You bring up a memory (at your pace, with support)
• We use gentle left-right stimulation (eye movements, taps, or tones)
• Your brain starts reprocessing: connecting new, safer information
• Over time, the memory loses its “charge”

Most people say it feels less like “erasing” the past and more like finally being able to remember it… without reliving it.

Fightress Aaron is accepting new EMDR clients (Alabama + Florida, in-person or telehealth).

Feeling on edge, running on empty, or like the weight of motherhood sits heavy on your chest? You’re not alone: and you don’t have to push through.

When overwhelm takes over, your body is just trying to protect you. Gentle grounding practices can help bring your nervous system back to safety, one small step at a time:

• Place a warm hand on your heart, feel your feet solid on the floor, and take 3 slow, deep breaths. Let your exhale be longer than your inhale.
• Notice your surroundings: gently name 5 things you can see, 4 you can touch, 3 you hear, 2 you smell, 1 you taste.

Even a moment of calm is a win. You deserve support that meets you right where you are. At New Beginnings Counseling, we honor the unseen work of mothering, and we’re here when you’re ready. www.nbcounselingllc.com/

Did you know that private-pay therapy often means more freedom and depth for your healing journey? When you invest in yourself outside of insurance, you get therapy designed just for you: no diagnosis required, no limits on sessions, and total privacy.

Insurance can offer affordability, but often comes with restrictions: session caps, limited therapist choice, and required labels that don’t capture your full story. Private-pay means you and your therapist decide what’s best, with space to move at your own pace and focus on what truly matters to you.

You deserve support that honors all of you. At New Beginnings Counseling, we welcome both private-pay and select insurance so you can choose what’s right for your healing journey. Ready to explore deeper healing without limits? We’re here, whenever you’re ready.

Sometimes the ways we love (and struggle) with our partners can be traced back to moments long before we ever met them. In couples therapy, we often see that unhealed trauma doesn't just stay in the past: it subtly influences how we connect, communicate, and react in our relationships.

For some, this might look like being quick to withdraw, struggling to trust, or feeling overwhelmed by small conflicts. Others may find themselves easily triggered, over-explaining, or needing constant reassurance.

Healing together as a couple means noticing these patterns, gently naming our triggers, and building new ways of relating. You don’t have to carry it alone. Couples therapy at New Beginnings Counseling offers a safe, affirming space to grow stronger together. You’re worthy of healing and deeper connection.

Ready for a new beginning? Let’s talk. www.nbcounselingllc.com/

Ever heard the term "walk away wife"? It describes a woman who decides to leave her marriage after years of feeling unheard or emotionally disconnected. This is almost never a sudden choice: it often follows long-standing relational patterns, emotional exhaustion, and countless attempts to fix what's not working.

Many women who walk away do so after feeling unseen or unsupported, even though they've tried repeatedly to improve their relationship. The decision isn't impulsive and it's not about blaming a partner. It's about recognizing an invisible emotional load and honoring the need for change.

If this resonates, you deserve care and clarity. Therapy can help you process emotional exhaustion and relationship transitions. You’re not alone, and support is available. Learn more or schedule at www.nbcounselingllc.com/contact

When you’re constantly holding it all together, even a few minutes for yourself can feel impossible. But nervous system regulation doesn’t have to mean long routines or silence you can’t find.

Try this (takes 60 seconds or less):
• Place your hand over your heart.
• Take three slow breaths, letting your exhale be a little longer each time.
• Whisper to yourself: “I am allowed to rest.”

These gentle resets signal safety to your mind and body: no matter how busy your day is. You don’t have to do it perfectly, and you don’t have to do it alone.

If you’re craving deeper support, New Beginnings Counseling is here to help. We see you, we honor your journey, and we’re ready to walk with you.
