Full-circle moments like this never get old!

Dr. Altman was honored to be invited to speak to the Private Practice Club at the University of Alabama at Birmingham earlier this month — his alma mater and the place where his journey into optometry began.

Having the opportunity to return, stand in front of future doctors once sitting in the very same seats, and reconnect with the professors who helped shape his career is truly special.

From student to private practice owner, moments like these remind us why mentorship, education, and giving back matter so much.

The Private Practice Club recently hosted alumnus Dr. Turner Altman, owner of Altman Eye Center, and his wife, Victoria, for an engaging discussion on the realities of running an optometric practice. Students gained insights into business strategies, patient care, and the challenges and rewards of private practice. The club regularly invites alumni speakers to share real-world perspectives, helping students prepare for successful careers in private practice.
