🌿 Calming the Chaos – Point 6: Designing Defusion ♟️🧠

Your thoughts can feel overwhelming—but they don’t define you 💭
This point focuses on creating space between you and your thoughts instead of trying to control them.

Try this:
Picture your mind like a board game ♟️
You are the board—steady and constant.
Your thoughts are the pieces, moving in all directions. No matter how chaotic they feel, you remain the same.

When you stop fighting every thought, you create space for clarity and calm 🌿✨

You are not your thoughts—you are the one observing them 🤍

Need support? You don’t have to do this alone.

🌿 Calming the Chaos – Point 5: The Purple Flower

Have you ever tried not to think about something… and suddenly it’s all you can think about? 🤔

That’s how our minds work.

The more we fight a thought, the more it sticks around.

✨ What would happen if, instead of pushing it away, you simply noticed it and shifted your focus?

💬 Be honest—does trying to “not think about it” ever actually work for you?

🌿 Calming the Chaos – Point 4: Just Passing Through

Thoughts can feel loud—like a train rushing by.

The more we try to stop them, the louder they seem to get.
But you don’t have to fight every thought.

✨ Let it pass.

Notice it, allow it, and let it move through without holding onto it.

💙 You are not your thoughts—you are observing them.

🌿 Calming the Chaos – Point 3: Lost Luggage

Ever feel like your thoughts just keep going… and going?

Anxiety can feel like a carousel of luggage—thoughts coming around on repeat. The more we try to grab every one, the more overwhelmed we become.

✨ What if you didn’t have to pick them up?

Let the thoughts pass by.
You can notice them without holding onto them.

💙 You are not your thoughts—you are observing them.

🌿 Calming the Chaos – Point 2: Word Reframing

The way you talk to yourself matters.

👉 “I’m making progress, but I still get anxious.”
👉 “I’m making progress, and I still get anxious.”

One small word shift changes everything.

Try this too:
Instead of “I am anxious” →
“I’m having the thought that I’m anxious.”

✨ This creates space between you and the thought.

💙 Small changes in words can lead to big changes in how you feel.

🌿 Calming the Chaos – Point 1: Practice

🎨 Try This: “Worry Art”

Now that we know a thought is just a thought… how do we actually practice that?

Here’s a simple exercise to help you separate from your anxiety instead of getting stuck in it:

⏱️ Take 60 seconds to sit quietly and intentionally notice your worries.
Pay attention to what you feel, think, and experience in your body.

Then get curious about your anxiety:
• What would you name it?
• What color is it?
• What shape or size is it?
• What does it sound, smell, or feel like?

✍️ Write about it or even draw it.

This may sound simple—but it helps your brain step back and see anxiety as something outside of you, not who you are.

💙 You are not your anxiety. You are observing it.

🌿 Calming the Chaos – Anxiety Series (Point 1)

🧠 A Thought Is Just a Thought

Ever feel like your thoughts are telling you the truth… even when they’re making you anxious?

Here’s the reality:
👉 A thought is just a thought.

Anxiety has a way of making thoughts feel louder, more convincing, and harder to ignore. The more we try to push them away or “shut them off,” the stronger they seem to come back.

It’s like watering a plant 🌱 — the more attention we give those anxious thoughts (even by fighting them), the more they grow.

✨ What actually helps?
Learning to notice thoughts without judging them, sit with them, and let them pass instead of trying to control them.

You are not your thoughts. You don’t have to believe everything your mind tells you.

💙 Follow along with our Calming the Chaos series as we share simple, practical ways to manage anxiety.

The new year doesn’t have to start with pressure or perfection. January is an invitation to reset gently. Instead of focusing on everything you want to change, take a moment to acknowledge how far you’ve come. Small, intentional steps—like improving sleep, staying hydrated, or checking in with your emotions—create lasting change. Growth happens through consistency, not overwhelm. This year, allow yourself grace as you move forward.
