With profound reverence and heartfelt sorrow, Mr. J. Morrill Gray and the devoted staff of Paradise Funeral Home humbly announce the homegoing of our beloved Mrs. Brenet Evelyn Smith.

Though the shadow of death has passed over, we stand firm in the eternal promise that death does not have the final word. For the Word declares, “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” (1 Corinthians 15:55). Mrs. Smith has not been lost to us but has been received into the everlasting arms of our Lord, where there is no more pain, no more sorrow, and no more tears.

While our hearts grieve her physical departure, our spirits rejoice in the blessed assurance that she now rests in the presence of the Almighty. Love endures beyond the veil of mortality, and Mrs. Smith's spirit lives on—radiant and free—having exchanged her earthly tent for a heavenly dwelling.

Brenet Smith was born April 6, 1957 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

She was proceeded in death by her grandparents Cleveland (Papa) & Mable Lewis (Big Momma), Henrietta Trouser, her brothers – Rickey Bailey, Michael (Curlee) Payton, and Clarence DeVose Jr., her great uncle she cared for until his death Ellsworth Pennington and one of her closest friends Denise Whitaker.

Brenet leaves to cherish her , three daughters Shardina Reams (Joseph) Onohwo, Mechell Smith both of Plano, Texas, and SheTha Smith Whitmore of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Eight grandchildren, Chandler Bishop, Tyra Reams, Jaden Smith, and Ny’Ala Smith of Plano, Texas. Jabari Smith, Jordyn and JaKari Whitmore of Bryant, Arkansas and Deshawn Lewis of Jacksonville, Arkansas and one great-granddaughter Ava Smith of Garland, Texas.

Three brothers Anthony DeVose Sr. of Wills Point, Texas, John (Rose) DeVose and Jason DeVose of Omaha, Nebraska. Three sisters Jackie (John) Stokes of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Sonya (Delvon) Skinner of Hampton, Virgina, and Barbara Currie of Memphis, Tennessee. Two Sister-in-Law’s Leola Jones of Houston, Texas and Barbara Williams of Chicago, Illinois. Two aunts whom she was raised with as sisters– Rubbie Lewis of Little Rock, Arkansas and Gloria Lewis of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. One Great-Aunt Mattie Steward of Illinois and One Great-Uncle Antar Baree of Kentucky, two close friends Ferdinada Daniels –Shepherd of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and Nona Scoggins of Little Rock, Arkansas, one special daughter Vianca Lewis-Smith of Bryant, Arkansas and one god-daughter Dr. Dinah Marshall of Memphis, Tennessee and a host of special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom she loved dearly.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at New Community Church with Bishop Dr. Hank Wilkins IV eulogist. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery by Paradise Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.

Dorothy Ann Pittmon was born September 16, 1962, to Horace Jones and Ardelia Barnes- Jones in Dell, Arkansas. Dorothy was a 1980 graduate from Dollarway High School in Pine Bluff, AR.

Dorothy accepted Christ at an early age, attending Old Path COGIC in Kansas City, MO under the leadership of Elder Willie Meadows. She later moved to Pine Bluff, AR, where she became a member of the Smith Temple COGIC under the leadership Elder Eugene Boyd Sr. She continued her service with Smith Temple until the church’s name changed to Tabernacle COGIC under the leadership of Elder Otis H. Richmond Sr. Dorothy was an active member singing for the voices of Tabernacle choir and helping with the (Sunshine Band) and various youth activities.

Dorothy worked in many different areas throughout her life but mainly worked in food services for most of her working career. The two most notable places include Jefferson Regional Medical Center and Pine Bluff School District. She loved Gospel music and had a host of favorite Gospel artists ranging from Pastor Shirley Ceasar, The Clark Sisters, Daryl Coley, The Winans, and many others.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her father Horace Jones, her sister Sarah Lee Jones, her grandfather Cornelius Barnes Sr. and her grandmother Rosie Mae Barnes-Watson.

Dorothy leaves behind her beloved husband of 32 and a half years Curtis Lee Pittmon, Jr., her children Lenina Pittmon, Curtis Lee Pittmon III, and her step son Jonathan Pittmon, her mother Ardelia Jones, her mother in law Alma Remley, her three brothers Melvin Jones(Chantal) of Pine Bluff, Robert Jones(Shondra) of Redfield, and Joe L. Barnes of Pine Bluff, her sister in law Stacy Turner of Pine Bluff, and her eight grandchildren Daylon Christmas, Jonathan Pittmon Jr., Logan Pittmon, London Pittmon, Jordan Pittmon, Jayleion Pittmon, La’Ayana Pittmon and LaVonte Pittmon. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Tabernacle of Faith Church of God in Christ in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.Interment will be in Cypress Memorial Gardens by Paradise Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.

Plummie “Sue” Lancaster was born on September 30, 1948, to the late Plummie Buckhanan of White Hall and the late Dave Buckhanan. She peacefully answered her Heavenly call on January 8, 2026.

Plummie received her education at Merrill High School in White Hall, AR. At an early age, she confessed her life to Christ and faithfully walked with the Lord throughout her life. She was a devoted member of Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church for over 44 years, under the pastoral leadership of the late Pastor Lawson to the current Rev. Dr. Larry C. Battles, until her departure, where she loved worship, fellowship, and sharing the Word of God. Plummie never missed an opportunity to tell others about the Lord and encouraged them to get to know Him.

She was united in holy matrimony to her beloved husband, Rev. William Lancaster Sr., of White Hall. From this union, eight children were born: six sons—William Lancaster Jr. (C.C.), Dwight Lancaster Sr., Orlando Lancaster Sr, Shaun Lancaster, Christopher Lancaster, and Clifton Lancaster Sr. and two daughters, Barbara Boston and Priscilla James, all of Pine Bluff.

Throughout her life’s journey, Plummie was a dedicated and hardworking woman. She was employed by Tyson Foods, Jefferson Regional Medical Center, and Simmons Bank until her retirement. Above all, she cherished her family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially attending church and praising God. She enjoyed attending rummage sales and loved finding great deals.

Plummie was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Lancaster Sr.; four sons, William Lancaster Jr., Dwight Lancaster Sr., Christopher Lancaster, and Shaun Lancaster; four brothers, Roy Buckhanan, Troy Buckhanan, Sr. , Rynadle Buckhanan, Sr. and Jimmie Buckhanan; and one sister, Daisy.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories two daughters, Priscilla (Christopher) James, Sr. and Barbara Boston; two sons, Clifton (Arretter) Lancaster , Sr. and Orlando Lancaster Sr.; one bonus son, Christopher James Jr. better known as CJ; three sisters, Thedora Woods, Betty Buckhanan, Cassandra Buckhanan and her sister-in-law Patricia Buckhanan, twenty-nine grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and a loving circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Larry C. Battles eulogist. Interment will be in Henson Memorial Gardens by Paradise Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.

Quincy Parks was born December 2, 1979 to Shirley and Jimmy Ray Parks. Shirley later married Ernest Tyler in 1983. Qunicy Parks was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, and friend whose life left a lasting imprint on all that knew him. Quincy passed away after a courageous battle with cancer; one he faced with strength, grace, and quiet resilience. He fought cancer with everything he had, and though his body grew tired, his spirit never did.

Qunicy was more than his illness. To those closest to him, Quincy was family in the truest sense, a brother by choice and by bond not just by blood. Even in the hardest moments he carried himself with dignity and faith. He showed what meant to keep going even when the road was heavy. He attended Pine Bluff High School and later went on and obtained his GED. He attended Northern Technical College where he obtained his barber license in 2018.
Quincy was proceeded in death by his son Quinshun “Chucky” Parks, his stepfather Ernest Tyler, his nephew Kel’tion Conyer, his maternal grandfather JB Wiley, his paternal grandparents Buddy and Rachel Parks.

He leaves to cherish his memories his mother and father Shirley Tyler and Jimmy Ray Parks. His grandmother Clara Mae Wiley. His children Shamon Parks, Shantazia Parks, Quincy Parks Jr, Quintavious Parks and London Dandridge. His grandchildren LaDarius Jr, Daxton, Dakota, Dior, Qyntavious Jr, and Kash. His four sisters Stacey (Donnie) Lowery, Shonda Parks, Emily Tyler, and TeErrica Wiley. His nine brothers Ronnie Parks, Kevin Parks, Byron Parks, Demarcus Parks, Ray (Arnece) Holder, Brandon Holder, Anthony Parks, Darius (Morgan) Parks, and Darren Parks. A special friend Melissa Long. He also leaves his memories to a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and a wide circle of friends who will forever cherish his memories. Though his time on this earth was far too short, Quincy legacy will live on through the lives he touched, the love he gave, and the memories that will never fade. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Rest on Quincy. You fought hard. You are free from pain. And you will never, EVER be forgotten.

A Time to Be Born:
Samuel Bearden’s life journey began April 27, 1969, the seventh child born to the late Elijah Bearden, Sr. and Pearlie Mae Cannon Bearden in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He accepted Christ and was Baptized at an early age under the leadership of Saint DeWitt Hill at First Trinity Church of God in Christ in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

A Time To Go Home:
Samuel Bearden departed this life on Sunday, January 4, 2026. He was preceded in death by his loving parents: Elijah Bearden, Sr., and Missionary Pearlie Mae Cannon Bearden and grandparents: Johnny Cannon and Reola Cherry Cannon, two brothers: Kenneth Earl Bearden and Roger Conway Bearden, and one sister: Betty Lois Bearden Knight.

A Time To Plant:
Samuel Bearden’s life was definied by boundless love for family and close friends. He was know for his enormous heart and touched countless lives through his kindess and unwavering generosity. Samuel graduated with honors from Watson Chapel High School in 1987, where he was the team captain and quarter back of the football team. He had a passion for sports and his favorite team was the Pittsburg Steelers.

Samuel joined the United States Army in 1987 and was honorably discharged in 1991 as a Dental Hygienist Specialist. His first assignment was in Germany and he traveled many other states until his last assignment in Forth Irwin, California.

After returning home, he attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and worked at the Department of Corrections in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He stepped away from his professional life to focus on his health.

A Time to Love:
Samuel had a nurturing and loving spirit for his special nieces: Camille (Gary) Peters, and Letoyia (Tyrone) Allison, special nephews Reginald King and Kyrone Corbin and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. His life was a blessing as he demonstrated love and kindness through his journey of life.

A Time to Mourn:
Samuel Bearden leaves to cherish his precious memories, two sisters Marylon (Robert) Merriweather and Jeanette (Reginald) King, four brothers Ananies (Sheila) Bearden, Elijah Bearden, Jr., Revernd Daniel (Leginia) Bearden, Apostle E. John (Bishop Shaye) Bearden, Sr., bonus brother, Randy (Jeanett) Conway, bonus sisters Jacqueline Conway, Lisa (Randy) Jenkins Pitts, a special aunt Joann Cannon Cowser, a special mother Delores Burkett King.
