We tackled the Ridge Line trail for our Friday morning hike, returning along the upper meadow. Kudos to our hikers, as we negotiated fallen trees and some steep inclines. However, we all prevailed and the views were spectacular!

October's Full Super Moon ascends into the sky, bringing the season of pumpkins, enchantment, mystery and intrigue. However, a darker element foreshadows its lunation and the cold months ahead, reminding us of big transformations to come.
Often referred to as the Hunter’s Moon or Blood Moon, the name of the October full moon pays homage to the traditional practices of this time of year. It reflects a time when communities prepared for the colder seasons ahead by hunting animals to eat during the winter as they said goodbye to the light and warmth of the sun.
The warrior spirit of the Super Full Moon in Aries asks us to focus on ourselves in more of a collective context – to revisit our soul’s purpose, encouraging us to be brave, live without hesitation and not stand back on the sidelines. This year, September’s brightest lunation is also known as the Harvest Moon, associated with the full moon that rises nearest to the date of the autumn equinox. According to the Farmer’s Almanac, the Harvest Moon has long been considered an important event, as the moon's light allowed farmers to work much later into the night to harvest their crops during a very critical time of year in preparation for winter’s barrenness. On a symbolic level, this lunation can be thought of as a time to harvest the metaphorical crops we have been tending to in our own lives.
The spiritual meaning of this full moon is about embracing our feelings and tapping into our higher self. This means listening to the universe’s subtle signs and letting go of the things that keep us from fully surrendering to our truth.
Lunar eclipses are known for their ability to flush things out of our life and pave the way for a more aligned future to begin unfolding. In the case of September’s lunar eclipse, it is here to clear out space, offering our intuition more room to expand, and allow more room for our true calling to reveal itself.
Because this eclipse is arising alongside the autumn equinox, it also marks a good time to start reaping what we have sown – reminding us to review what we have produced over the past season from the efforts of our hard work. A super moon is a spectacular phenomenon that occurs when the full moon approaches it's closest distance from the earth – appearing larger and brighter than usual. This event brings a surge of electric, revolutionary energy that will instigate awakenings and quantum leaps, motivating us to make long-due changes. The Aquarius Full Moon is considered to be a Blue Moon. This is because it is the third Full Moon of a season (Summer in the Northern hemisphere and Winter in the Southern hemisphere) during which we exceptionally experience four Full Moons. The combination of this full moon being both Blue & Super makes it extremely powerful. The Aquarius Full Moon brings the spotlight on our relationship with groups, communities, and the larger human collective and challenges us to relate to our creativity in a way that allows us to serve others, add value to our community, or address relevant collective issues. This event is also bringing our attention to our relationship with technology, the internet, and social media, and how that impacts our quality of life and the quality of our relationships with both ourselves and others.

The Full Buck Moon actually reaches her peak on July 21st, 2024 at 3:17AM PST, which is why we will be howling Saturday night. This July moon commonly referred to as the Buck Moon is historically named for the new annual growth of bucks’ antlers. According to Farmer’s Almanac, she is also historically known as the Ripe Corn Moon, Blueberry Moon, or the “Time Of Much Ripening” — all of which refer to the natural abundance and rapid growth taking place during this lush time of year. Spiritually, the fullness, regality, and proliferation of the buck’s midsummer antlers could be considered a metaphor for harnessing our full potential and picking up momentum toward whatever we are trying to grow toward. Just as a buck’s antlers grow to their fullest point, the spiritual meaning of the July full buck moon is about reaching your fullest potential. Buck Moons signify a time for regeneration and renewal. Make the best of this Full Moon by remembering that you are in the driver’s seat of your life.
