In 2016, NMN a Vitamin B3 derivative, was released by Japanese Shinkowa Pharmaceutical, when it first announced availability in the US at Amazon.
Initially discovered,, & published in a study from 1963 by P Chambon, JD Weill, P Mandel on NMN activating new DNA.

NMN is found in fruits and vegetables such as Edamame, Broccoli, Cabbage, Cucumber, & Avocado, at a concentration of about 1 mg per 100g, making it unrealistic as a daily source of 250-500mg.

Numerous published studies have all pointed to incredible benefits including Energy, Endurance, Blood Sugar and blood pressure regulation along with DNA replication, also many have reported better sleep and better mood.

Metro International Biotech in California, is attempting to patent and corner the market on this “SUPPLEMENT” and to turn it into a “prescription”.

All this, despite the fact that it was readily available OTC over-the-counter for 7 years with no side effects, along with endless  medical studies and abstracts touting the benefits. Still readily available in Japan.

For us Type 2 Diabetics we have a couple of studies:

1.    Overall, improved glucose uptake observed after NMN
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10932336/

2.    “Results demonstrate that NMN increases muscle insulin sensitivity, insulin signaling, and remodeling”
(clinicaltrial.gov NCT 03151239).

3.  “NAD+ Precursors Repair Mitochondrial Function in Diabetes and Prevent Experimental Diabetic Neuropathy”

Most Diabetics are deficient in B12.

“Several cross-sectional studies and case reports have documented an increased frequency of vitamin B12 deficiency among type 2 DM (T2DM) patients.” 1.

Metformin use has been unequivocally demonstrated as the prime factor associated with vitamin B12 deficiency among patients with T2DM” 1.

Symptoms = Fatigue, breathlessness, lethargy, feeling faint, heart palpitations…

SO, which B12 is best and how much do I take?

Buy a sublingual Methyl B12 at 5000mcg/5mg and, if possible have your doctor prescribe you injectable B12, but make sure its “METHYLCOBALAMIN” not “CYANOCOBALAMIN”

Cyanocobalamin is a synthetic form of vitamin B12 found only in supplements, The body must convert cyanocobalamin into an active form of adenosylcobalamin and methylcobalamin before it can be used.

Methylcobalamin is a naturally occurring form that you can get through either food sources or supplements. It can be found in animal-based food sources such as meat, eggs, fish, and milk.

Injectable Methyl B12 is ideal, especially if you are suffering from Neuropathy. IM Intramuscular usually in the buttocks or SubQ with an insulin needle into the shoulder, thigh, stomach or buttocks. Once a week injectable, and use oral B12 to complement.

In general we do not get the proper amount of micronutrients from our foods, so supplementing is essential.

Controlling cravings is a huge problem for just about everyone on the planet.

Remember that cravings are created by multiple chemical reactions in the body that are influenced as much by stress, lack of sleep, lack of exercise, emotions and also by what we ate earlier.

When you get that dizzy, anxious, edgy “HANGRY” moment where you’re running around with no time in your hectic schedule,  try:

Wendy’s, McDonalds, Chik-fila or whichever drive through, get a couple of Chicken sandwiches, or a Burger,  and either order it lettuce wrapped or very quickly without any hesitations throw the damn bread out the window!!

Eat the protein slowly, chewing it thoroughly, because it takes about 20 min for your body to be recognize it’s satiated (Satisfied).

Mix up a double serving Protein shake, add a tablespoon of  Almond or Peanut butter throw it into a Thermos, keep  it with you at work or in the car.

Keep a bag of Almonds, peanuts, Pecans, Pistachios or Cashews nearby or in the car, and grab a handful before you eat some high glycemic Carbohydrate like “Doughnuts, French Fries, or a Croissant”… YUM, NO wait, I mean BAD choice.

In any case, Glucosyne was formulated to help with Insulin Sensitivity, which helps reduce cravings for carbs and simultaneously helps to lower blood sugar,  give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

AMAZING DARK CHOCOLATE :

• Increases Blood Flow
• High in Antioxidants
• Increases Energy
• Reduces Blood Sugar

HEART.
Flavanols effectively prevent the oxidation of LDL (bad cholesterol). One study showed that they also reduced the calcified atherosclerotic plaque in the coronary arteries. It helps with Vasodilation (increased blood flow) and may lower blood pressure.

INTIMACY
Well… yes, many of you have probably heard this before. So, the increased blood flow along with the energy boost, seems to stimulate ALL areas of the body, so there is increased oxygen and blood flow leading to more sensitivity and engorgement.

NUTRITION.
Contains high levels of manganese, copper, magnesium, iron, selenium, zinc, and potassium.

ENERGY.
Dark chocolate contains Theobromine, which is similar to caffeine but has a much longer half-life, so its also good to add to coffee as it will give you extended physical and mental energy.

BLOOD SUGAR.
Dark chocolate improves insulin sensitivity in your body.

“The antioxidant effects of cocoa polyphenols directly influence insulin resistance… Cocoa may induce pancreatic β-cell regeneration and stimulate insulin secretion, have a hypoglycemic effect, and improve glucose tolerance. The vasodilatory effects of cocoa can also improve insulin sensitivity mediated by endothelial function." 1

RECIPE:
LINDT 90% Chocolate Bars 4 for $10 at BJ’s Wholesale or Costco.

Break up a whole bar into a bowl, add 2 tbsps. Heavy whipping cream, add 2 or 3 dropperfuls of Liquid Stevia, melt for only 1 min, stir until consistent, and freeze, cut into squares and enjoy.

R- Alpha Lipoic Acid is yet another fantastic naturally occurring compound that has numerous reputable studies and incredible benefits.

Also known as ALA. Alpha Lipoic Acid is derived from Caprylic Acid, which is a medium-chain fatty acid that is naturally found in palm oil, coconut oil, and the milk of humans and some animals.

So what can it do for us? Well according to multiple published scientific studies in the NIH National Institute of Health, they state the following:

“Showed a significant decrease in Fasting Blood Glucose , Post Prandial Glucose (after meals) and Insulin Resistance. (1).

“1) it prevents beta cell destruction, a cause of T1DM; 2) it enhances glucose uptake in T2DM; and 3) its antioxidant effects may be particularly useful in slowing the development of diabetic neuropathy” (2).

Why don’t more people utilize it? Maybe they just don’t know….

Also make sure it’s the “R” form, which is the biologically active component (native to the body) that is responsible for lipoic acid’s phenomenal antioxidant effect. The “S” form is produced from chemical manufacture and is not very biologically active.

R- Alpha Lipoic Acid can be taken by itself or better yet try GLUCOSYNE which combines R-ALA along with 10 other proven and studied ingredients to help lower blood sugar.

“This a popular beverage in East Asia, and also used as a herbal remedy in Europe and North America. Green tea is considered to be anti-inflammatory, antioxidative, antimutagenic, and anticarcinogenic [1,2], and can prevent cardiac disorders. Epidemiologically, it has been suggested that green tea consumption prevents type 2 diabetes.” 1. National Institute of Health

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC517497/

Green tea is everywhere, but not always quick to make, and if you are hot and thirsty, warm tea is probably not a good idea.

However, iced green tea, sweetened with Stevia is a great alternative.

To make things easier, more realistic, and more cost efficient, boil a gallon of water, add 15-16 green tea bags, let seep for 10 min, pull and squeeze tea bags, add Stevia to taste.

Then let it cool and pour back into Gallon jug and refrigerate. You can also add some lemon or lime juice which is also has added health benefits.

If in the mood, pour it into a mug and heat in the microwave for a nice warm cup.

Search online for “bulk green tea” as there are deals out there as cheap as .07 a bag, so a gallon will cost you about $1 in tea bags.

Health is everything, make choices that make a difference.

Type 2 Diabetes can and many cases will end our quality of life as we know it.

Despite every medical evidence that clearly shows that Type 2 diabetes will continue to destroy eyesight, kidneys, heart function, immune system, as well as mental and physical energy , most don’t make significant changes to help prevent this from occurring.

Hence the reason Glucosyne was formulated.

Turmeric (curcumin) is one of the many scientifically proven natural ingredients that can significantly help, and just one of the 9 ingredients in Glucosyne.

Research has provided the scientific basis for “traditional” curcumin and confirmed the important role of curcumin in the prevention and treatment of diabetes and its associated disorders. Curcumin could favorably affect most of the leading aspects of diabetes, including insulin resistance, hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, and islet apoptosis and necrosis.1

Science is science, and knowledge is power. We are seeing numerous clients with significant drops in their h1ac.

Glucosyne works, and we love that fact that it does…

02/28/2021

Time releasing carbs is simple and works well to help prevent spikes in blood sugar, and it also helps prevent excess glycogen from being stored in the fat cells (adipose tissue) which is found mainly in the belly, hips, and thighs.
Eating a carbohydrate by itself is not the same thing as eating it simultaneously with protein and/or fats.  So, for example having an apple by itself will alter your Blood Sugar quicker and in many cases result in higher blood glucose, than if you had it along with let’s say a Tablespoon of Almond butter. This is especially true with Pasta, Bread, and Sugary treats, and is one of the reasons Whole milk affects blood sugar less than Skim Milk.
,
At CAS Formulas we like to use a lot of Unsaturated Fats in our diets which include, Olive Oil, Flax seed Oil, Almond Butter, Avocado Oil, Fish Oils (DHA/EPA,) whole almonds, cashews, peanuts, avocado, and of course Organic Peanut butter.
Important to note: These Omega 3-6-9 fatty acids are also known to have Anti-inflammatory, Anti-Cancerous, Cholesterol lowering, Intestinal Lubricating, Immune boosting, Skin Lubricating, Anti-aging, and Blood Glucose lowering properties and are known to help prevent Atherosclerosis (clogged arteries), Dementia, Alzheimer’s, Heart Disease and Obesity.
IDEAS TO KEEP BLOOD SUGAR LOW, AND HELP WITH BURNING FAT!!

-Add 1 Tblspn of Olive oil to any carbohydrate rich foods such as pasta, or bread to slow down absorption of the carbs and spikes in blood sugar.
-Add handful of nuts just before consuming any fruit, or eat a Tblspn of almond butter or Peanut butter with or before eating a carbohydrate.
-Add a Tbspn of Flax oil or Coconut oil to your oatmeal.
-Take 1 Tbslpn of Fish Oil just before any meal, Try the Carlson Lemon flavored, easy to take and doesn’t repeat.
-Please comment and add any of your own recipes !!

01/07/2021

In 2009, the World Health Organization (WHO) released a report that suggested banning endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) may actually be needed to protect the health of future generations. According to the report:

“The diverse systems affected by endocrine-disrupting chemicals likely include all hormonal systems and range from those controlling development and function of reproductive organs to the tissues and organs regulating metabolism and satiety. Effects on these systems can lead to obesity, infertility or reduced fertility, learning and memory difficulties, ADULT-ONSET DIABETES, cardiovascular disease, as well as a variety of other diseases."1.

Where are these chemicals?

One of the most estrogenic is 4-hexyl Resorcinol, a Xenoestrogen, which is applied to shrimp to prevent them from discoloration, and as a pesticide to reduce bacteria in farm-raised seafood. Other seafood with high pesticide loads includes tilapia, eel, and farmed salmon. 2.

Xenoestrogens are estrogen mimicking compounds which are not produced by our body, disrupting the production of hormones, including amongst others Estrogen, Testosterone and Insulin.

Many of us are eating “high quality, low glycemic proteins”, to stay healthy, lean and fit, and to help keep our glucose down, and we are inadvertently ingesting chemicals that make us fatter, less able to utilize glucose, and less healthy overall.

So make sure to buy “wild caught” fish and seafood, and Organic foods whenever possible, and yes unfortunately it is more expensive, but getting sick is also.

12/09/2020

Lately, there have been various studies indicating that vitamin D3 is significantly correlated to insulin resistance and β-cell function.
It turns out that the β-cells in the pancreas, that secrete insulin, have been shown to contain VDRs (Vitamin D Receptors). This is really important news.
Further evidence indicates that vitamin D treatment improves glucose tolerance and insulin resistance. Great, now what?
Although there has always been controversy about supplementation and its role in disease management and health, countless scientific and medical abstracts indicate an overwhelming benefit to those who do take certain supplements. Besides, it’s the reason we eat fruits and vegetables, to obtain essential vitamins and minerals.
So, what about deficiencies?
They come about because of, fast foods, processed foods, pesticides, GMO Genetically modified, stress, lack of sleep, too much coffee, alcohol, crappy food…..

Unfortunately, we do not get enough in our diets, with the highest concentration of naturally occurring Vitamin D is found in Salmon, about 7iu’s per ounce, so it would take about 44lbs of Salmon to equal one tiny 5000iu capsule. Direct sunlight is a great way to get Vit D, but apparently UVB rays do not pe*****te glass, so it has to be directly to the skin, 10-15 min a day.
,
So, for those who cannot get outside in direct sunlight daily, go and buy some D3, dosages vary, but most health care professionals recommend taking about 5,000iu’s a day, and it is very inexpensive.
