Alliance is bustling these days; reminiscent of the time before Covid! Thursdays are especially busy with many of our skilled clinicians providing all of the helpful services we have to offer: individual and family counseling; co-parenting and reunification. Group therapy, evaluations, and research-based mental health treatment.

Alliance is a reputable private practice in the demanding city of Miami. We are looking for qualified professionals to add to our excellent staff, in the areas of clerical and clinical.

OUR RESPONSE TO COVID-19

Dear Alliance Family,

The health and safety of our patients, employees, and our entire community is our highest priority. We are requesting that all patients who have had close contact with a lab-confirmed COVID-19 case or a history of travel to or from an affected geographic area with widespread community transmission AND who exhibit symptoms of acute respiratory illness (fever, cough, shortness of breath) be taken to the emergency room or alternate facility where they can be tested for COVID-19 immediately.

Patients with respiratory symptoms such as cough, sore throat, and/or fever may contact us by PHONE at 305-251-3464 for instructions, but they SHOULD NOT ENTER OUR OFFICE.

Furthermore, with much thought and consideration for our entire community, our Alliance team has collectively decided to close our office to the public as of Tuesday, March 24, 2020. Therapeutic services are NOT suspended, however. All of our clinicians are switching over to telehealth communications via platforms such as Doxy or Zoom. Please contact your respective therapist to ask about future sessions and how they will be conducted. You may reach your therapist by calling 305-251-3464 or at the work mobile numbers they have provided.

We also encourage you to stay connected and engaged with us during this time. There WILL be office staff available by phone Monday-Friday, 9 am to 6 pm, and you may contact Alliance at apsbboss@aol.com if you have any questions.

Based on the continued escalation in the numbers of individuals testing positive for the Coronavirus, including now community transmission cases, APS has decided it is prudent, being concerned for the safety and health of our patients, that effective at 5 PM, Monday, March 16, 2020, all patients who are 60 years of age or older, and/or those with serious underlying health issues, will be excused temporarily from attending group therapy sessions. They will be instructed to call in each Monday so we can inform them when mandatory attendance will recommence.

Alliance for Psychological Services will be closed on Tuesday, September 3rd, out of of an abundance of caution for our northernly clients residing along the coast or in the path of Hurricane Dorian. All appointments and groups are cancelled. We will reopen on Wednesday, September 4th, and resume business as usual. Please be safe, everyone!

Alliance supports KidSide, a nonprofit organization devoted to supporting Family Court Services (FCS). One of the only social service agencies inside of a family courthouse in the entire country, FCS helps distressed families in need who have cases pending in the family court. KidSide, in partnership with FCS, both work in the best interests of children who are victimized by severe parental conflict.

Kidside is a not for profit organization devoted to supporting Family Court Services (FCS) in its endeavor to continue and improve services for those distressed, low income families with cases pending in family court.
