Mealtimes aren’t always what people expect them to be.

For many families, they’re not filled with ease, laughter, and connection—they’re filled with stress, worry, and exhaustion. And too often, those struggles are minimized and critiqued relentlessly by the community, extended family, and even other providers who don’t fully understand what it’s like to support a child with feeding challenges.

We feel so seen at the SOS Approach to Feeding conference! Because Dr. Kay A Toomey gets it!

One of our favorite reminders so far:
These families aren’t overreacting. They’re navigating something incredibly complex, emotional, and real—every single meal and every single day.

To the parents and caregivers walking this path:

And we will walk alongside you—through the hard meals, the small wins, and everything in between—until we make it to the other side. 💛

We’re so excited to share that 3 more of our therapists are attending the SOS Training Conference this weekend! 🎉

By the end of the weekend, nearly our entire therapy team will be SOS-trained — a huge milestone for our clinic and the families we serve.

There’s something incredibly energizing about stepping into a space filled with passionate therapists who are all focused on feeding and oral motor development. It’s an opportunity to learn new skills, gain fresh perspectives, and bring back even more tools to support our clients with confidence and care.

We love continuing to grow, learn, and collaborate — all to better serve our amazing community. 💛

SOS Approach To Feeding

🎉 A little over a week ago, we had the BEST time bringing our therapists and clinical care coordinators from all three offices together for an afternoon of fun, laughter, and team bonding! 💪

We kicked things off with some epic team-building at Game On Escapes & More, where we faced off in a Game Show Showdown! 🏆 From trivia to cup stacking, the competition was fierce. Here’s what we learned:
1️⃣ We’re ALL super competitive.
2️⃣ We’re not the best at throwing (who knew?). 😅

To wrap up the day, we headed to La Buena Vida Cary for some well-deserved drinks—celebratory mocktails 🍹 AND non-alcoholic flights (cheers to everyone!). 🥂

This was our first time coming together like this, and we’re SO grateful for the time spent, the laughs shared, and the memories made. 🙌 Can't wait for the next one! ❤️

One of the best parts of private practice is getting to celebrate the incredible people who make our team so special. As a company, we try to pause every few months to intentionally focus on our team and spend time together. Over the next couple of days, you’ll probably see a few highlights from our Friday adventures. 💕

We kicked things off with a *secret* baby shower for our beloved speech-language pathologist, Erika. What made it even better? Both Erika **and** Katelynne (speech-language pathologist) were in for a surprise! Katelynne thought we were throwing a shower for Erika, while Erika thought the celebration was actually for Katelynne. The team managed to pull off the ultimate double surprise, and it was such a joy to watch it all unfold!

Moments like this remind us how lucky we are to work alongside such thoughtful, supportive people. It's truly a blessing. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make it happen and made sure both of these amazing women felt so loved and celebrated! 💕

We’re exploring a special way to celebrate our current and past families as we approach out 5 year anniversary with a FREE movie night at Carolina Cinema Sandhills 10 on April 25th! 💛

Right now, we’re collecting interest to help us plan. Once we confirm our reservation with the theater, families will be able to officially register to receive a free ticket for each person in their immediate family.

We say this often, but it's so true. We have the ABSOLUTE BEST clients! They are always so kind and compassionate, no matter what life throws our way.
