NEWS: FirstHealth has again earned top honors in statewide hospital rankings. FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital tied for 6th in Business North Carolina's Best Hospitals list, and Moore Regional Hospital - Richmond tied for 7th on the Patient Picks list.

Business North Carolina creates its list by using more than 25 health care metrics, including data from the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

🤒 🏥 🤧 As flu activity continues to rise across the region, FirstHealth is reinforcing visitor guidelines and encouraging preventive measures to protect patients, visitors and health care teams.

Visitor restrictions are in place at all FirstHealth facilities, including our four hospitals, to reduce the spread of respiratory illness during this flu season. Some important reminders:

- Patients are limited to two visitors at a time
- No visitors under the age of 12 are permitted
- During this period of increased flu activity, visitation by immediate family only is strongly encouraged
- People with any respiratory symptoms, including cough, fever, sore throat or congestion should not visit

🎁 🎄 📚 🧸 An amazing gift...

We were overwhelmed this week to see how members of our community supported the recent book drive at Books-A-Million in Southern Pines. The store collected items worth more than $22,000.

They dropped the games, books and toys off at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital this week, making sure that pediatric patients across the FirstHealth system will receive a little extra comfort this holiday season.

10,000 surgeries....and we're just getting started!

Our system has now completed 10,000 surgeries with the da Vinci 5 robotic surgical system, reaching a milestone that reflects our commitment to providing the best possible care to our patients. FirstHealth is one of just five hospitals in North Carolina to offer the da Vinci 5 surgical system.

FirstHealth acquired the system in 2007 to provide patients with the most up-to-date surgical technology. It is designed to assist surgeons in performing minimally invasive surgeries, offering enhanced precision and control. It includes 3D high-definition imaging and flexible robotic arms.
