🤒 🏥 🤧 As flu activity continues to rise across the region, FirstHealth is reinforcing visitor guidelines and encouraging preventive measures to protect patients, visitors and health care teams.

Visitor restrictions are in place at all FirstHealth facilities, including our four hospitals, to reduce the spread of respiratory illness during this flu season. Some important reminders:

- Patients are limited to two visitors at a time
- No visitors under the age of 12 are permitted
- During this period of increased flu activity, visitation by immediate family only is strongly encouraged
- People with any respiratory symptoms, including cough, fever, sore throat or congestion should not visit

ICYMI: There will be some temporary changes to how patients and visitors access Reid Heart Center beginning at the end of the day Thursday, Sept. 18. For everyone's safety, the main driveway and part of the parking lot will be closed as we bring in a crane for construction work.

🅿️ 🏥 Beginning at the end of the day Thursday (Sept. 18), access to Reid Heart Center will temporarily change due to a construction project that requires a crane to be staged in the parking lot. For everyone’s safety, the main driveway and part of the parking lot will be closed during this time.

- Use the alternate driveway located to the left of Page Road Pavilion
- Patient drop-off and parking areas have temporarily shifted to the right side of the Reid Heart Center entrance
- Patient and visitor parking will be available only on the right side of the building

Medical emergencies are always scary, and that’s especially true when someone is alone and away from home. Anxiety and fear can set in quickly, and questions are endless – what is happening with my body? Can I safely drive myself to get medical care? Is there a hospital nearby? All these questions and many more were running through Doug Peterson’s mind in October 2024 after he started experiencing chest pains following a day of work in Lee County. Doug was far from home...but he would soon meet several "real-life heroes" who would become the advocates he needed.
