👶🏼 Sometimes, we think that if our child is struggling to latch, fatigues easily during feeds, loses liquids during feedings, and/or experiences difficulty transitioning to solid foods, it's normal. What could actually be happening is that your child is struggling with their feeding and oral motor skills.

🚨How do I know if my child has an Orofacial Myofunctional Disordr? 🚨

👅Common characteristics of an underlying Orofacial Myofunctional Disorder are listed below! If your child exhibits any of the following, it's highly likely they need a specific form of therapy, called Myofunctional Therapy, to fully address correcting these concerns!

• Mouth breathing is atypical.
• Lisps are atypical.
• Snoring is atypical (especially in children!)
• Tongue-ties are atypical.

Mumbling, thumb sucking, finger sucking, "messy" eaters and speech errors (especially the "r" and "l"!) can be charactertics of an Orofacial Myofunctional Disorder.
