As of the end of the business day today we are officially closed until December 2.
Our staff and volunteers will be enjoying much deserved time away from the clinic.
Since spay and neuter services are not considered emergencies rather elective surgeries, communication about future surgeries will not be handled until AFTER Thanksgiving. Thank you for understanding.
Surgical concerns from completed procedures should contact the number provided on your discharge paperwork.

🏆Today we proclaim November 19,2025 to be Judy Gow day in recognizition of her incredible dedication and unending compassion for animals in her community.

We filled the clinic with deserving dogs from the Hilltop section of Noel plus a few other places that Judy frequently visits. Those hard to see places that hide the sadness of animals living a life on a chain or roaming the streets, trying to survive.

All dogs were given free surgeries vaccines and deworming thanks to an anonomyous benefactor and The Bissell Fix the Future program.

Judy your love for these animals and community is seen and we love you for all you do.

🦃And of course it’s almost Thanksgiving so we had our “friendship” meal and somehow had to get up and go back to work!

We checked our dog food pantry and low and behold it’s almost bare!

Since we are always on the search for good values, if you are so inclined to support a McDonald County business, may we suggest Bomgaars across from
Walmart in Jane? Attached are two of their store brand foods that are excellent values.
Of course hungry pets are happy with most anything but if you are shopping, we like to shop local. Thank you for considering this request!

Because of your sharing our page far and wide, we are announcing that we currently only have room for walk in feral cats this week with no additional appointments available until December 2. No additional “add on” appointments are available.

➡️Next week we will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday to allow us to do a bit of additional work inside the clinic and to give our outstanding staff some much deserved time off.

‼️No one will be available to answer routine questions regarding appointments either thru messenger or email. Of course if there is a surgical complication, we refer you to the number given to you on your discharge paperwork.

Stay tuned for some awesome work this week, we have a few great days lined up!

Look at these lucky pups that hitched a ride north this morning! The van was full again with 14 passengers including two large beauties from the Humane Society for Animals in Rogers. Always remember we do more by working together!

We’d like to especially call your attention to litters of puppies or young dogs less than 12 weeks old that are living outside. These dogs are too young to receive a rabies vaccine because their bodies have a maternal antibodies that block the receiving of the vaccine. Therefore it is extremely important to not let these dogs out where skunks and other carriers could bite them.
For adult dogs that have previously been vaccinated, especially multiple times, there is scientific evidence that immunity often continues past the actual expiration of one year or three years. This does not mean it’s okay not to vaccinate as the law requires; but we hope this might give a bit of mental relief to owners if you can’t get an appointment for revaccination immediately. Please get an appointment especially for your outside dogs asap.

During these uncertain economic times when people are struggling to feed themselves and their families, we are reminded of the empty bowls that are often unfilled for their pets. This week we will start a pet food drive where anyone can drop off pet food to be redistributed to those on need. A single can of dog or cat food, a bag of food no matter how small, can be that lifeline to a pet in need. We will be in the clinic Tuesday thru Thursday of this week and we’ll put a bin outside if you’d simply like to dropoff without coming in. Thank you for your kindness to pets in need.

Don't forget to get straw for any outside pets! Very cold the next two nights with a windchill in the teens or less. NOT ALL ANIMALS ARE INSIDE PETS. For those that prefer or need to stay outside for whatever reason, give them a place to stay dry and keep warm out of the wind and weather. Please make sure the shelters are faced away from the wind, angled entrances to the shelter are best as they keep the wind out. The cold wind normally comes from the north so do not have the shelters facing that way. Shelters need to have four sides, 1 side has an entryway, roof and floor up off the ground so water can't get inside. The shelter needs to have straw inside at least 1/2-3/4 full. NO blankets, towels or hay as these all hold moisture. The shelter needs to be large enough for the animal to turn around inside. Local farmer coop stores and big box stores like lowes and tractor supply stores usually have straw for around $8 a bale. You will likely not need a full bale. Get several trash bags and store the rest for a needed refreshing as the winter goes along since it gets dragged out or compacted.
