This past Thursday, after completing a call locally in Middlesex County, a resident's family requested our duty crew's assistance in transporting their loved one to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital due to a complicated medical history. After assisting this resident, our crew was floated to assist with calls in Bergen, Union and Somerset counties as they made their way back home to Piscataway. In all, this VOLUNTEER crew answered a total of five calls for emergency service all resulting in transport to an emergency department during an eight hour shift that stretched into nine.

Need an escape from these frigid temperatures? Piscataway now offers three warming center locations for code blue activations!

NJ211: When temperatures drop below freezing and conditions pose a threat to unsheltered individuals, a network of agencies throughout New Jersey helps people obtain shelter. During such times, county offices of emergency management and municipal government will often initiate and communicate a Code Blue Alert, which enables authorities to make shelter arrangements for adults experiencing homelessness. The shelter arrangements may include opening Warming Centers for this specific need. The Code Blue activations, deactivations, and Warming Center listings on this page are based on what NJ 211 receives from the individual counties.
