Good morning from our Wednesday crew! Every shift starts with a complete check of our ambulance to ensure we have all the supplies and equipment that is required on the ambulance. We start with a 360 degree walk around of the ambulance to ensure all emergency lights are operable, that all outside cabinets function and that there is no new damage or other concerns before we go on the road.

As a licensed EMS provider, the state has established requirements that we must follow, the same as any other agency in NJ, paid or volunteer. The rig check is one way we ensure we're in compliance.

In this video is one of our ambulances, BLS-16.

This morning we were proud to compete in the Wawa "Hoagies for Heroes" competition held at the grand opening of their new location on River Road. Our team competed against members of the Holmes Marshall Fire Dept., Piscataway Township Police Department, Possumtown Volunteer Fire Company and River Road Fire Company to make the most number of hoagies. We are proud to announce that our team took home first place and that all involved from every team had fun!

As participants of this competition, our organization was also awarded a $1,000 donation that we look forward to donating to a community charity upon receipt.

Lastly, we would like to thank Piscataway Township's Mayor, Brian C. Whaler, for acknowledging us in his speech. We are proud to continue to be of service to our community in their time of need for (soon to be) 65 years!

Happy Tuesday! As we continue to expand our services, we are proud to continue to find ways to grow and change that improve both patient care and provider experience. Pictured are technology upgrades and additions to one of our ambulances that will work as a test bed for these adoptions.

Picture 1 - seen in this picture is the install of an upgraded tabled with a new mounting system that keeps the device permanently secured to the dash between the driver and passenger seat. This device fills the role of a Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) which relays dispatch information bi-directionally allowing crews to and dispatch to share information instantly. Additionally, this MDT provides driving directions to the driver eliminating the use of other devices which may obscure and/or distract the driver.

**********

Picture 2 - This picture shows the installation of a vehicle based modem/router which allows for continuous pinpoint GPS data to be relayed to dispatch via an externally mounted antenna which greatly improves cellular reception. This addition will help us to ensure the closest unit is dispatched and also provide a more reliable connection for our MDT.

Not pictured is an additional tablet device dedicated solely to our providers for the purpose of patient charting. This device makes use of the camera to upload pertinent pictures from the scene of a call such as damage in a car accident, healthcare information and more while also allowing providers to scan government IDs to import patient information lessening provider screen time. Additionally, the tablet’s internet connectivity allows providers to lookup past patient interactions with our services and others for the purpose of importing their medical history as previously collected.
