For those celebrating the season, Christmas trees and decorations can turn dangerous fast if safety slips. We teamed up with a local fire department to show just how quickly a dry tree can ignite—and to share must-know tips to keep your home safe this holiday season.

Holiday Fire Safety Must-Dos:
✅ Water your tree daily — a dry tree can ignite in seconds
✅ Inspect lights for broken bulbs or frayed cords
✅ Use decorations and lights from reputable manufacturers
✅ Keep trees and décor away from fireplaces, candles, and radiators
✅ Don’t overload outlets or extension cords
✅ Always unplug decorations before going to bed
✅ Test smoke alarms & carbon monoxide detectors
