The mission of the New Jersey Autism Center of Excellence (NJACE) is to keep the community informed on current practices and new transformative research, to shift the paradigm from a deficit model to one which enables the person and family to be supported and empowered through innovation in interdisciplinary research, technology, education, and clinical care which centers autistic perspectives and disability justice, and to make NJ a national leader in these endeavors. The NJACE is partially funded by a grant from the NJ Governor's Council for Medical Research and Treatment of Autism to Rutgers University in collaboration with Children’s Specialized Hospital.
