CCSO Update – Pittsboro Goldston Road 🚨🚨

There is no active threat to the community related to the incident near Pittsboro Goldston Road.

Earlier today, the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office responded to a hostage situation involving a barricaded person at a residence near Pittsboro Goldston Road and U.S. Highway 421.

Pittsboro Goldston Road remains closed in the immediate area and is expected to remain closed, likely through this evening. Drivers should avoid the area and use alternate routes.

A CCSO deputy was shot and injured during the incident and has been transported for medical treatment. No additional details are available at this time.

Deputies and other emergency personnel remain on scene as the investigation continues. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
