Chores aren’t about raising “helpful kids.”
They’re about building capable, confident, resilient humans.

When children contribute at home, they’re not just learning how to clean or cook—they’re developing:
🧠 Executive functioning (planning, sequencing, follow-through)
đź’Ş Self-efficacy and competence
❤️ A sense of belonging and responsibility
🧩 Problem-solving and emotional regulation

Research shows that children who regularly participate in age-appropriate chores develop greater independence, stronger work ethic, and higher long-term life skills—even predicting better outcomes in adulthood (Rossmann, 2002).

Chores tell a child:
"You matter here. You’re capable. You’re part of this family."

Join Dr. Vanessa Lapointe, Dr. Steve Biddulph, Dr. Ross Greene, Dr. Laura Markham, Dr. Joel Warsh, Dr. Lawrence Cohen, Dr. Michael Gurian and so many more!

đź“• TOPICS INCLUDE:
Emotion regulation, compassionate discipline, childhood anxiety, healing insecure attachment, ADHD, neurodiversity & autism, highly sensitive children, parenting toddlers, managing screen time, online safety, fostering brain development, raising resilient kids, positive body image, power of play, parental anxiety, fatherhood, picky eating, how to talk so kids will listen, and so much more!

If you talked to a friend the way you talk to yourself, would you continue talking to you?

Welcome

Hello, my name is Tina Lashley and I want to thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. My clients come to me because they are tired of feeling as though life is against them. I believe that internal strengths come from overcoming things we once thought we couldn't. Together we can work towards developing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

My training and experience include working with clients that have experienced trauma, abuse or neglect, domestic violence, sexual abuse and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In addition to trauma, I have experience in working with anxiety, depression, grief/loss, and family transitions/changes such as divorce.

I offer telehealth, telephone and face to face counseling services for individual, couples and families who are struggling with circumstances or looking to improve their overall wellness. I am also a Certified Play Therapist that specializes in working with children ages 3-10. Evening and weekend appointments are available to accommodate busy schedules. Contact me to set up a free 15-minute phone consultation to learn more about me, what I do, and if we are a good match.
