A GOODBYE LETTER FROM SAM ANGELO ❤️

To all of my loyal patients and their families,

After much thought and reflection, I’ve made the difficult decision to step away from Kids Plus Pediatrics to pursue an opportunity that will allow me to spend more time with my own family. My last day in the office will be October 17th.

This was truly one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make—especially because this practice has been such a big part of my life. I actually grew up here, first as a patient and later as a provider. It was at Kids Plus where I first learned about the physician assistant profession and where I was inspired to become a pediatric PA.

Over the past 9 years, it’s been an absolute pleasure getting to know so many wonderful families. I’m incredibly grateful that you’ve trusted me with your children—your most precious treasures. I hope that in every visit, you felt heard, respected, and genuinely cared for. Watching your families grow and being part of so many special milestones has been one of the greatest joys of my career.

There have been moments of laughter and moments of tears, and I want you to know how deeply I’ve valued the opportunity to share in the victories and provide support during the difficult moments.

Change is never easy, but it’s often the path to growth. I’m confident that you’ll continue to be in excellent hands with my colleagues, who I’ve had the privilege of learning and growing alongside for nearly a decade.

If we run into each other out in the community doing “yinzer things,” I hope you’ll say hi!

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for allowing me to be a part of your lives for these past 9 years.

All the best,
Sam Angelo

With great sadness, we share the passing of Martha Peelor.

Martha was a long-time member of both the Breastfeeding Center of Pittsburgh and Kids Plus Pediatrics, where she served as a Clinical Supervisor and IBCLC until her retirement in 2015.

A true pioneer in lactation support, Martha began her journey as a La Leche League of PA Leader in 1971. In 1985, she was among the very first to sit for the IBCLC exam. Throughout her career, Martha supported countless breastfeeding families and served as a generous mentor to new IBCLCs, sharing her wisdom and compassion for more than 40 years.

To honor Martha’s remarkable contributions, the Western Pa Lactation Consultants Association established the Martha Peelor Scholarship, which continues to support local individuals pursuing education in the lactation profession.

Martha will be deeply missed by many—especially those who were fortunate to call her not only a colleague and mentor, but also a dear friend. 💜
