Auditory Lab at Carnegie Mellon University Our research examines the human ability to use sound to understand the environment

The Auditory Lab at Carnegie Mellon University investigates auditory conditions and auditory perception. We are specifically interested in the human ability to use sound to understand events happening in the environment. From insights gained in this research, we hope to better understand how the brain perceives and classifies unwanted sounds, ultimately helping those suffering from sound disorders, such as misophonia.

If you conduct auditory/acoustic research on the ability to use sound to represent, understand, manipulate, or navigate the surrounding environment, emphasizing ecologically relevant natural sounds and tasks, please send it to Ecological Perspectives on Hearing, a special issue in the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America which I'm co-guest editing.
