Help Our Friends at Bantha Tea Bar Stay Open; Just by Showing Up to Class on Labor Day
On Monday, September 1st at 6:30pm, the Unity Vinyasa class at Metta (and Zoom) will double as a fundraiser. Half of proceeds will support Bantha Tea Bar, our neighbors and friends who’ve been a staple in the Garfield community for over a decade.
If you’ve ever sipped tea there, listened to live music, or just soaked in their “Star Wars cantina–meets-community-living-room” vibe, you know how important Bantha is. They’re at risk of closing due to incessant road construction on Penn Ave. and rising costs (including tariffs affecting tea importing), so let’s show up for them the way they’ve been here for us for a decade. Yes, September 1st also marks their 10 year anniversary!
Just a friendly reminder: Unity Vinyasa: Every Monday & Thursday at 6:30pm, Sundays at 11am.

Unity Vinyasa Yoga. Is breath, focused, meditation centered, true flow yoga. Physically, it’s challenging yet accessible for most. A great place to start for beginners or for more experienced yoga practitioners—to elevate their practice and deepen their understanding of Yoga. It’s specifically designed and refined to increase the likelihood of students to experience and benefit from the state of flow, and mindfulness based meditation. It’s by donation, just drop in, no contracts or credit card information is required. And each class is also available live on zoom. Undeniably, one of the very best flow classes you’ll find in this city, or have the opportunity to take from anywhere online. Students often share that they’ve gotten into their deepest meditative states during the class and/or the final Savasana. Let us know if you have any questions at all; we love to talk about Yoga, and how we can help you use it to improve all areas of your life, most notably, your overall peace of mind. Unity Vinyasa Yoga — breath, focused, meditation centered, physically challenging, yet accessible for most folks, a great place to start or to deepen your yoga practice, true flow yoga. No filler, fluff, gimmicks, or added distractions. No music, random, nonsensical, sequencing, the teachers will never touch you, except for possibly a high five, fist bump or friendly hug after class if requested :-) no contracts, or need to give your bank or credit card information.
