Living with cancer often means navigating change—again and again. With each shift in health, identity, and daily life can come a sense of loss that isn’t always visible, but is deeply felt.

Join us for Twilight Grief: Exploring Pre-Death Loss, a virtual presentation on April 7th at 12 PM that sheds light on the ongoing grief experienced by individuals with cancer and those who support them. Led by Elizabeth Schandelmeier, LCSW, APHSW-C, FT, this session will explore what it means to grieve while life is still unfolding—and why those feelings are a natural part of the journey.

This conversation offers space for understanding, reflection, and connection—for anyone impacted by cancer.

🧸 Join Nicki Jo for a 4-week Memory Bears workshop starting on Tuesday, April 7th at 4:30 PM at Cancer Bridges!🧸

This meaningful, hands-on experience creates memory bears in remembrance of someone special. Guided by Nicki Jo, you’ll have the opportunity to craft a comforting keepsake that honors your loved one and holds their memory close.

All materials will be provided, and you’re welcome to bring personal items (such as clothing or fabric) to make your bear uniquely yours. These thoughtful touches can transform your bear into something deeply personal—whether for yourself or as a gift for someone else.

This program offers a gentle space to reflect, create, and connect with others who understand.

We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us last week for our Hear from the Experts: Sarcoma Education Panel.

It was a meaningful evening of learning, connection, and thoughtful conversation as a multidisciplinary group of experts shared insights and answered questions about navigating the sarcoma journey. Thank you to our incredible panelists—Dr. Kurt Weiss, Dr. Yvonne Mowery, Dr. Bill Laframboise, and Dr. Lisa Ercolano—for generously sharing your time and expertise, and to Melissa Potter and Alethea Carr for helping guide such a supportive discussion. Thank you to our education sponsors Natera and UPMC for making this night possible through your generosity.

We’re also thankful for the support of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Community Alliance Program (CAP) and the medical student volunteers who joined us—Sebastian Hymson, Andrew Zhang, Tao Sheng, and Silas Wang.

And of course, thank you to everyone who attended. We’re grateful to be able to create spaces where people can come together, share experiences, and ask important questions!
