NOTE: This position is for Third Shift at our Charleroi Production Plant; the hours for this position are from 11pm to 7am
The Food Safety & Sanitation Specialist will assist the Quality and Sanitation Departments in promoting and ensuring adherence to a food-safe work environment in all company-wide Food Safety, Sanitation, and Quality programs. Additionally, the Food Safety and Sanitation Specialist helps maintain a food-safe culture that promotes food safety awareness, self-responsibility, and adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices.
Responsibilities:
• Actively engages workforce to promote a food-safe culture of awareness and self-responsibility
• Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Quality assists in the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of all company policies and SOPs relating to Food Safety and Sanitation
• Performs routine facility walkthroughs and internal audits. Communicates findings to the Manager, Sanitation and Director of Quality
• Enforces Good Manufacturing Practices throughout the facility and perform GMP audits
• Maintains inventory of all food safety supplies and tools and monitors and reports on the condition of the sanitation equipment to the Manager, Sanitation
• Responsible for environmental swabbing, ATP swabbing, and swabbing of equipment post cleaning and sanitizing. Responsible for management and inventory control of Sanitation cleaning chemicals throughout the facility
• Identifies areas for continuous improvement to reduce food safety risk, maintains a clean food-safe plant environment, and cleans equipment as directed by the Manager, Sanitation
• Evaluates sanitation department performance and conduct tests for verification of Sanitation Programs through machine clean time studies and cross-contamination monitoring of Sanitation Teams
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma required
• Experience in food production strongly preferred
• Knowledge of Food Safety, GMP, and Sanitation cleaning and testing SOP’s
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to effectively meet deadlines in a time-sensitive role
• Basic computer proficiency
• Must be safety minded having a good safety record, and be self-motivated
Environment:
This position is in a manufacturing facility and involves standing, lifting, bending and walking for extended periods throughout the day. You will be working with the following allergens on a daily basis: Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Milk, Eggs, Soy, and Wheat
