Raw Libyan Desert Glass is one of the most mysterious natural glasses on Earth 🌍✨
Found in the Sahara Desert, this pale golden stone was formed millions of years ago under extreme heat. Most scientists believe it was created by a meteorite impact or airburst event, where temperatures became so intense that desert sand was instantly melted and transformed into natural glass ☄️🔥
Unlike man-made glass, Libyan Desert Glass is completely natural. Its soft yellow to golden color comes from trace minerals and the purity of the silica-rich sand it formed from.
Because of its extraterrestrial connection, Libyan Desert Glass is often associated with transformation, higher awareness, and accelerated spiritual growth 🌞 Many people work with it when stepping into major life changes, seeking clarity, or expanding their consciousness.
Raw pieces in particular carry a powerful presence. Their natural texture and organic shape are a reminder of the intense cosmic forces that created them.
This is not a gentle, subtle stone. It’s often described as amplifying, activating, and expansive ⚡
Rare. Cosmic. Transformational.
Libyan Desert Glass is a reminder that even from extreme heat and pressure, something luminous can emerge ✨

How do you actually use Selenite?
Selenite is often known as a cleansing and clarity stone, but the way you work with it can be simple and intuitive.
One of the most common ways to use Selenite is for energy cleansing. Many people place it near other crystals, on an altar, or in a space they want to keep feeling clear and calm. Because of its association with purification, it’s often used to refresh the energy of a room or collection.
You can also use Selenite during meditation. Hold it in your hand, place it near your crown or heart, or keep it beside you as you focus on quieting the mind and creating space for clarity.
Some people like to keep Selenite near their bed, workspace, or entryway as a gentle reminder of peace and intention throughout the day.
Since Selenite is a soft and water sensitive mineral, it should always be kept dry and handled with care.
Like all crystals, the most important part is intention. There isn’t one “right” way to use Selenite. Start simple, stay curious, and work with it in a way that feels aligned for you.

How can you tell if a crystal point is natural or polished?
The truth is, it’s not always obvious.
There are so many natural variations in how crystals form that telling the difference can sometimes be more complex than it seems. While there are helpful clues, there isn’t one single rule that works every time.
The simplest place to start is by looking at the base. Natural points often have a rough, uneven, or broken bottom where they detached from a cluster. Polished points are usually cut flat so they can stand upright.
Next, look at the surface. Natural crystals tend to have small blemishes, texture, growth lines, or tiny irregularities. If a point looks extremely smooth, perfectly even, and almost too flawless, it was likely cut and polished.
That said, it can still get tricky.
Some pieces are polished only on the bottom but left natural on top. Others may have a polished tip and a more raw base. It also helps to understand whether a crystal naturally grows in large macro formations or tiny micro crystals, since that affects what the surface should look like.
At the end of the day, the most reliable way to know is to ask the seller. A reputable crystal shop should always be transparent about whether a piece is natural, cut, or polished.
Education and honesty matter when it comes to crystals, and we’re always happy to answer your questions 🤍

Fishtail Selenite is known for its delicate, layered growth pattern that fans outward like soft wings or flowing water. This unique formation is often associated with gentle clarity, emotional release, and the movement of stagnant energy.
Many people are drawn to Fishtail Selenite during times of transition or healing, when things are shifting and clarity is beginning to unfold. Its energy is often described as calming but directional, helping guide energy outward and forward.
This variety of Selenite is commonly used in meditation spaces, on altars, or anywhere you want to encourage peace, flow, and energetic cleansing. Because Selenite naturally supports clearing energy, it is often placed near other crystals or meaningful objects.
As with all Selenite, handle with care and keep away from water to preserve its natural beauty and structure.

Geology of Selenite

Selenite’s story begins long before it ever reaches our hands.
Formed millions of years ago as ancient seas and lakes slowly evaporated, Selenite is a variety of gypsum that grew in quiet, undisturbed conditions beneath the Earth’s surface. As mineral rich water receded, delicate crystals formed layer by layer, capturing a moment in geological time.
Most of the Selenite we see today is a fibrous form of gypsum known as satin spar. This structure is what gives Selenite its soft, silky sheen and luminous, moonlike glow as light reflects through its fine internal fibers. Clear Selenite forms differently, growing in flat, transparent layers that can be seen through entirely. While they look different, both are varieties of the same mineral, gypsum.
Because Selenite is quite soft, it is easily shaped into towers, plates, bowls, and wands while still preserving its natural striations. This softness also reminds us that Selenite is a stone meant to be handled with care.
Selenite is found in regions around the world, including Mexico, Morocco, Australia, and the United States. Each location produces its own subtle variations in color and texture, from bright white to warm ivory and soft peach tones. Peach Selenite gets its color from natural mineral inclusions, while desert rose formations develop when gypsum grows alongside sand in arid environments.
Under the right conditions, Selenite can grow to extraordinary sizes. In rare crystal caves, gypsum crystals have formed for hundreds of thousands of years, growing into some of the largest natural crystals ever discovered.
Selenite carries the quiet wisdom of slow formation, patience, and stillness. A reminder that some of the most beautiful things take time.

This is next-level Pyrite. ✨🧊

An exceptional high-end cubic Pyrite cluster with sharp, architectural faces and a bold metallic luster that feels straight out of a mineral museum. Every cube formed with intention, balance, and precision — the kind of piece that stops collectors in their tracks.

Pyrite is known as a stone of confidence, prosperity, and protection, but pieces like this go beyond energy — they’re about rarity, formation quality, and pure visual impact.

A true statement specimen for serious collectors, designers, and anyone who appreciates geological perfection.

💛 One of those “you don’t see this every day” pieces.

Tucson Day 4 🌵✨
Day four in Tucson was one of those days that reminds me exactly why I come here.
I started the day with one of my Russian dealers, and as always, this stop delivered. I picked up Iowaite, along with some really special blueberry Azurites that are cut in half. I’m completely drawn to the tiny star-like formations inside — they’re subtle, magical, and feel like little hidden worlds once you notice them.
And then… I stumbled upon my favorite finds of the entire trip so far.
Two pieces that absolutely stopped me in my tracks.
First, collector-quality Thunder Bay Amethyst clusters. These are truly something else. The color, the formation, the sparkle — just next level. I was beyond grateful to be able to take home an entire flat. Pieces like these don’t come around often, and I still can’t believe I found them.
And then, something I have never sourced before — Lazulite from the Yukon, Canada. This one has an incredible story behind it. I met the man who actually mined it, and the process alone makes these pieces feel even more special. They have to take a helicopter into an extremely remote area that’s only accessible for about three weeks out of the entire year. They can only mine a limited amount and bring back what they’re physically able to carry.
On top of that, they’re dealing with unpredictable weather, rugged terrain, and even grizzly bears. He told me he was supposed to be there for a full week but had to cut his trip short after just four days because the weather turned. That kind of sourcing hits differently — it gives you a whole new appreciation for what it takes to bring rare material to the surface.
To end the day, I picked up some beautiful Pink Calcite from New Mexico — soft, grounding, and calming. It felt like the perfect way to close out such an intense, awe-filled day.
Day four was unforgettable. Let me know which of these you want a deeper dive on — these pieces deserve it. 💛
