A teaching from Breathe With Maria featured in this month’s Sacred Space newsletter (read the issue at Villagetherapy.org/monthly-newsletter):

Every time we step onto our yoga mat, we are different.

Maybe we didn’t sleep well, or perhaps we’re overwhelmed and exhausted. Some days, we’re just glad we showed up.

Yoga teaches us to meet ourselves exactly where we are, not where we think we should be, and not where we were before. It asks us to let go of expectations and simply accept. It’s okay to not always feel your best. This is your practice. Be true to yourself in the moment. Do it for you.

Maria Hilton is a Yoga Instructor with Wellness Empowered Yoga. See a complete list of her offerings at wellnessempoweredyoga.com.

Maria will also be guiding our upcoming workshop, Winter Glow: A Candlelit Sound Bath, along with Kristy Joy of . This will be a candlelit evening of rest, resonance, and deep exhale. Register now at Villagetherapy.org/workshops.

✨ Winter Glow: A Candlelit Sound Bath (March 1) – soften into candlelight, crystal singing bowls, and serene garden views.
✨ Mom Support Workshop (March 6)– a nurturing virtual space to exhale, connect, and feel supported.

🌿 Rest Is Resistance 🌿

In a world that asks us to move, perform, and carry it all, we gather to simply breathe, rest, and release.

Join us Sunday, February 22 | 10:00–11:30 AM at the Village – Shaler Yoga Studio for a collective pause: gentle movement, deep rest, and the healing resonance of sound bowls. No fixing. No performing. Just space to land.

All bodies. All levels. All welcome. A portion of proceeds supports local neighborhood resources—because caring for ourselves is part of caring for our community.

💛 Led by Kristy Joy (InJoy Meditation, LLC), Bhavna Mehta, ERYT-500 (Ayurvedic Health Coach & Yoga Instructor), and Quest (Sound Bowls).

✨ Happy Galentine’s Day ✨

Here’s to the women who hold us together.
The voice memo listeners.
The “I’m outside” texters.
The ones who sit with us in heartbreak and celebrate our becoming.

Friendship is sacred.
It is medicine.
It is nervous system regulation in human form.

This Galentine’s Day, we honor the friendships that help us grow, soften, and feel less alone.

Tag your Village.
Send the text.
Plan the coffee.
Say the “I love you.”

Connection heals. 🤍

💛📖 Mindful Reads: Hold Me Tight 📖💛

This month, as we celebrate love in all its forms, we’re reflecting on what helps love feel safe, steady, and lasting.

Part of this Mindful Reads blog was featured in the February issue of Sacred Space, and the full book recommendation is now live on our blog.

Inspired by Hold Me Tight by Dr. Sue Johnson (EFT founder), this reflection explores how understanding attachment can soften disconnection, deepen emotional safety, and remind us that we’re not meant to do relationships alone.

Written by Sable Arend, LPC, MS, 200hr-RYT (they/them), a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in EFT & couples therapy at The Village, this piece is offered as a gentle resource — whether you’re nurturing a partnership, tending to your relationship with yourself, or simply longing for deeper connection.

✨ A Heart Opening Cacao Ceremony: Only a Few Spots Remain✨

This Friday (7:30–9:00 PM), join us for our heart-opening Cacao Ceremony — an evening to slow down, soften, and reconnect with your heart.

Guided by Dr. Victor Barbetti, this intentional experience blends ceremonial cacao, meditation, and intention-setting to support grounding, emotional clarity, and heart-centered connection.

To deepen the night, Luka Giralico () will be offering mini tarot readings for $25 ✨

If your nervous system has been asking for a pause… this is your sign.

✨ New on The Village Blog ✨

Love isn’t just something we feel — it’s something we practice.

In in the latest blog post, written by Sable Arend, LPC, MS, 200hr-RYT (they/them), they explore Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and how it helps us understand the emotional patterns shaping our relationships, soften cycles of disconnection, and move toward safer, more responsive bonds.

Rooted in attachment science and deep compassion, EFT offers a roadmap for reconnecting — with partners, loved ones, and ourselves. Whether you’re navigating conflict, craving closeness, or simply curious about what helps love last, this reflection invites gentleness, curiosity, and hope.

💬 Read the full post, An Introduction to Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), on The Village Blog and join us this month as we explore love in all its forms.
