Our Christmas tree is officially up—and it’s brimming with holiday spirit thanks to our wonderful residents! They spent the day carefully placing ornaments, choosing their favorite decorations, and helping each other bring the tree to life. The joy in the room was contagious, and we’re so grateful for these moments that make the season so special. ❤️🎄

Do you want to be inspired this holiday season? Meet Betty! When Betty first came to The Pines, she had suffered a serious medical issue and was on hospice with what most everyone thought was little time left. Betty was bed bound and on oxygen around the clock. Day by day she fought hard to get stronger and become well. In early October we were asked to evaluate Betty to determine if she was well enough to come off hospice services and start some physical and occupational therapy with EmpowerMe. To everyone’s surprise, Betty did remarkably well. After being in bed for weeks, she got up with the walker and took off!

Over the past 7 weeks Betty has transitioned off hospices and begun a rigorous therapy program. First, she started PT and OT twice a week and now she attends three times a week. Betty is always eager to participate and progress her programs. She is walking, gaining strength, balance, and independence, and is even off her oxygen. Betty walks laps around the halls and even goes up and down a few steps with supervision. Last week Betty even started safely walking to all her meals.

Betty’s overall goal has been to get home for the holidays with her family, and we are pleased to report that this week she will be able to do just that. She will be spending the Thanksgiving Holiday with her two sons, and she is eager to show them all her progress. We are beyond proud of all of Betty’s hard work and achievements and that is why we have chosen her as our EmpowerMe Star of the Month! Way to go Betty!

Nothing better than live music, warm pie, hot chocolate, and celebrating with our wonderful residents and families. Grateful for every moment we shared! 🥧🎶☕️

Tonight, our LifeStories community came together in the most wonderful way. Residents invited their families for a dinner designed not just to share a meal, but to share moments, memories, and a sense of togetherness that we deeply value. The smiles were endless, the conversations heartfelt, and the joy in the room almost tangible. Events like this remind us why community matters so much — because when our residents and their loved ones gather, something truly special happens. Thank you to every family member who helped make tonight so meaningful. 🧡
