You have done a great deal of research in putting this book together, and your placement of End Notes at the end of each chapter is effective both for readers who will appreciate the handy references and for those who will skip over them. Part II: Taking Action is the strongest section of the book. Here, you provide readers with the background and basics of the Keto Diet in relation to cancer and go into the specifics that research and experience have generated. You write in a largely down-to-earth voice and explain concepts clearly. The three chapters on Animal Studies are particularly interesting. Good job with grammar and proofreading.”

Do you feel adventurous? Consider using exotic spices like curcumin, turmeric, and ginger in your next meal! They are great in fighting cancer! However, timing is everything! Be careful not to overuse antioxidants during chemotherapy, as they may reduce the treatment's effectiveness. Like any antioxidant, these powerful spices may blunt the killing effect of chemotherapy. It is best to avoid them during treatment to maximize the free radical killing effects. Also, double-check your prescription medications with your pharmacist, as dangerous drug-supplement interactions can occur. For instance, ginger can interact with tacrolimus, a drug often used by post-transplant patients. Afterwards, enjoy a cup of green tea to help block glutamine. Bon appétit!

I often had a browser open to look up references as I read, not because Tan isn’t clear, but because the subject itself runs far deeper than the typical “low-carb” conversation.

The strength of this book is its seriousness. It’s evidence-based, backed by clinical experience, and endorsed by leaders in metabolic oncology. For patients and caregivers, it offers a hopeful but grounded look at keto as a therapeutic tool. For professionals, it’s a compact but dense reference that pulls together years of research.

Exactly one month ago today, we held the BIOFUEL conference in Cairo, Egypt. BIOFUEL, formerly known as Keto in Cairo, was a workshop conference that preceded the Cairo TECHNE conference this year.

It was well attended, and we were fortunate to have had over a dozen speakers from both the United States and Egypt.

It also happened to be EIW, Egyptian Innovators Week.

Many tech companies, startups, AI innovators, educators, and investors attended the week-long event.

I had a great time, and even rode a camel!

But now that my jet lag is gone, I wish to take a moment to thank everyone who made this event extra special.

Thanks to all our SPEAKERS! I know that you took precious time off your schedule to travel to this event. You truly elevated the quality of this event. The audience feedback was phenomenal.
