The Center for Relational Change

The Center for Relational Change The Center for Relational Change is Pittsburgh's premier family therapy agency when working with individuals, couples and families.

The Center for Relational Change is a group practice of clinicians who conduct therapy with individuals, couples and families. The philosophy of therapy at the Center for Relational Change is both collaborative and holistic. Clinicians view therapy as a collaboration between their clients and themselves. In addition to resolving the client's specific concerns, clinicians hope to empower their clients with the ability to enrich their overall quality of life beyond problem solving. They believe successful therapy embodies deep and abiding respect for the client's uniqueness, coupled with profound emotional and psychological presence, and the mastery of a wide range of therapeutic skills on the part of the therapist. They also believe in a holistic approach to therapy. They believe it is essential for therapeutic growth to consider the mind, body, and spirit, all of which construct the path we choose in our daily walk through life.

🌟 Introducing the Institute for Relational Change! 🌟

I'm proud to share the launch of the Institute for Relational Change, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit mental health care organization dedicated to training the next generation of systemic, culturally responsive clinicians.

Our mission is simple but powerful: to make high-quality, relationship-centered mental health care accessible to everyone, no matter their background or circumstances.

Through the Institute, we’re expanding our graduate and postgraduate training programs, strengthening community partnerships, and creating new pathways to connection, healing, and belonging. Rooted in systemic therapy, cultural awareness, and deep self-exploration, our work is about fostering spaces where transformation feels possible and relational connection is restored.

Please help us welcome our newest resident, Beining Chen. Beining is a bilingual therapist (English and Chinese (Mandarin)) at the Center for Relational Change. She works with individuals and couples, and the immigrant community and international students.

She takes a systems approach as a philosophical foundation, both in the therapy room and in life. This means she sees people not as a collection of symptoms or as having a single cause of distress, but as individuals whose experiences are deeply connected to their relationships, cultural contexts, the expectations they’ve shouldered, and the stories they might have inherited about who they “should” be. Having lived between cultures (collectivistic and individualistic), she deeply appreciate how our backgrounds can shape us, and how complex each person’s story can be.

For more information about Beining, please go to CenterforRelationalChange.com.
