We honored our veterans in a ceremony that included music, prayer, poems, and a special moment when young children handed out letters of thanks to our resident veterans. Our community is blessed with 22 men and women of courage and honor, and we are so grateful for their service! After the ceremony, we held a reception in our lounge, serving cookies and juice, followed by a wonderful sit-down lunch specially prepared by Chef John for our honorees and their guests. It was a lovely day for the staff, residents, and veterans, whom we look forward to seeing every year!

Once a month, our community’s staff at South Hills Square celebrates our residents who have birthdays or anniversaries! A special sit-down dinner is prepared by our Executive Chef, John, and he ensures that our diners have a wonderful selection of food, including crab, steak, and twice-baked potatoes. Our residents are invited to bring a guest, and a wonderful meal, accompanied by wine and cake, is served by our dining room staff and Lifestyle Director. One of our residents is a wonderful musician who plays the piano during dinner, making the atmosphere even more delightful and engaging. Everyone on the staff that evening sings 'Happy Birthday' to the residents, and we all have a great time with smiles on our faces! Happy birthday and anniversary to our October residents!

To continue celebrating Oktoberfest, we recently took a bus trip out to lunch at the Hofbräuhaus! Some residents enjoyed beer flights, while others preferred tea. Everyone had a delicious meal of German food and left with full stomachs and smiles! It happened to be a lovely fall day as well, so we all got to see some of the beautiful trees turning color! We love taking the bus on trips, and we go at least once a week!

South Hills Square's annual Fall Craft Fair was a resounding success! Residents enjoyed shopping on Main Street, conveniently located on the first floor. This eliminated the need for driving, traffic, and parking hassles. Shoppers found a wide variety of items, including many handmade crafts. Many residents purchased Christmas gifts and other presents for themselves and their loved ones. We're already looking forward to our next craft fair in the spring!

South Hills Square residents celebrated Oktoberfest on Friday! With music by Mikey Dee on the accordion, guests enjoyed polkas, drinking songs, and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cider. Over 50 people attended, laughing, dancing, and enjoying Chef John Panucci's food. It was a magical time filled with singing, partying, and friendly visits.
