❄️ Navigating the Recent Snowfall: Tips for Amputees ❄️

Staying safe in snowy + icy weather is so important — here are a few ways to make navigating the recent snowfall easier:

👥 Ask for help!
Have a neighbor, friend, or family member assist with digging out and clearing the snow off of your steps and sidewalks so you can move safely and confidently.

🥾 Wear non‑slip footwear
Boots or shoes with strong traction can greatly reduce your risk of slipping on snow and ice. Good traction = fewer slips on snow + ice.

🧣 Dress warm
Staying warm helps circulation and keeps your residual limb comfortable in cold weather.

🦿 Cover your prosthesis
Protective coverings help reduce moisture buildup + improve comfort + keeps your prosthesis fitting well.
