What’s the difference between sound absorption and sound isolation?

Sound absorption improves how sound behaves within a room by reducing echo and controlling reverberation. On the other hand, sound isolation prevents noise from traveling between rooms through walls, floors, ceilings, doors, and other structural elements. Both are essential, but addressing these concerns often involve different solutions.

Understanding the client’s acoustical concerns is the first step toward designing a space that truly performs.
