WIN $2,500!!!
Help us raise funds for the Kobelenske family to get their daughter, Cora Lee, the service dog training she needs.
Get to know Cora and her family in our heartfelt sit-down with her mother, Courtney:
Todd & I have been married for 25 years. We have Emma who is 23 and finishing up her degree at Penn State in Human and Family Studies. Super proud! Cora Lee is 20 and attending Duquesne University in their special needs/life skills program. She also currently works one day a week at a local salon with a job coach. Super proud! We enjoy doing fun stuff together even if it is getting stomped in Uno by Cora. Family time is the best time.
Cora would be benefiting from the service dog. She is an amazing kiddo, but has been given a few obstacles for her future. One big obstacle is muscular dystrophy. She is shaped just a little different and getting around and does become a task at times. Falling is also something that occurs. No one wants to go down, but it happens. She is also on the autism spectrum. I can tell you one thing for sure she is amazing!
Cora may have cards stacked against her, but you would never know. She has a positive outlook, loving, best manners, and makes you feel good about yourself. There is just something about her personality that brings out the best in others. Turns your frown right upside down.
She loves hanging out with friends and watching WWE. WWE is her absolute must. Her room is wresting, her wardrobe, we all are into it so it makes it fun. She loves going to independent wrestling shows, out to eat, grandmas and papas house is always a favorite.
Day to day tasks would be walking and if falling we would like the servo e doggie to be able to balance so Cora can use him as support to help her get back up.
If having an episode (crying, visibly upset) have the doggie be able to detect that and offer her comfort. More independent to go extra places and mom & dad don’t have to be her shadow. (secretly I would still be in the wings) but the doggie would protect her and be there for her. Honestly, her feeling more independent would be everything.
