What is pharmacogenetics—and why does it matter in hospice care?
Pharmacogenetics (PGx) is part of our precision medicine approach. PGx studies how a person’s genetics may influence how their body processes medications.

During Social Work Month, we pause to recognize the incredible individuals who uplift spirits, defend dignity, and transform lives every single day.

Social workers walk alongside people during some of life’s most difficult moments, offering compassion, guidance, and hope when it’s needed most. Their dedication strengthens families, supports communities, and ensures that no one has to face hardship alone.

Today and every day, we thank social workers for their unwavering commitment, their advocacy, and their heart for service. Your work truly makes the world a better place.

We’re proud of the new pilot study led by our medical director Dr. Mylynda Massart exploring how pharmacogenetics can help personalize medications for hospice patients.

In collaboration with the Bethany Precision Hospice Program, our team used genetic insights to better understand how patients may respond to certain medications—helping us support comfort, safety, and quality of life at the end of life.
