Black joy is not separate from Black survival.
It is because of joy, community, and care that our babies thrive.

Infant mortality reminds us of the work still needed—but Black Birth Renaissance reminds us of what’s possible when we gather, protect, and celebrate life.

Join us for a Community Day rooted in joy, culture, and the future of our children.
✨ Because living past the first birthday is worth celebrating—every time.

Postpartum is not an afterthought.
It is not a footnote.
It is not “when you get back to normal.”

Postpartum is a sacred healing window where the body, mind, and spirit are recalibrating after birth.

Yet, in modern systems, support for mothers ends far too soon.

Our ancestors understood this. They centered rest, nourishment, warmth, and community , because they knew that how a mother is cared for shapes her long term health and the wellbeing of her family.

This month, we are reclaiming postpartum care the ancestral way.

Because mothers deserve more than survival … they deserve restoration.

Benefits of Pot Likker :

Blood Replenishment 🩸

Rich in iron, folate, and chlorophyll

Supports recovery from blood loss during birth

Traditionally given to “build the blood” after labor

Blood is vital in pregnancy for delivering oxygen and nutrients to the baby, removing waste, increasing maternal blood volume for the baby's needs and as a hemorrhage reserve, and screening for complications like anemia or Rh incompatibility.

pot likker is the mineral rich broth left behind after slowly cooking collard greens and other leafy greens. While pot likker has deep roots in West and Central African culture its tradition travelled the transatlantic route as well. Traditions passed down through story telling and preserved.

Do you know the mineral rich benefits for mommy and baby pre and postnatally ?

We’ll discuss over the next few days , stay tuned 🍲

Black Birth Renaissance presented by Birthing with Brandi & The Birthing Hut

👀 April 17–18, 2026

Black Birth Renaissance is a two day community centered conference held during Black Maternal Health Week, honoring Black birth as art, culture, resistance, and rebirth.

Inspired by the Harlem Renaissance, this gathering reimagines maternal health through creativity, joy, family, and collective care. From a vibrant Family Day to a powerful day of dialogue, healing, and visioning, Black Birth Renaissance centers Black families, birth workers, artists, and ancestors in a living movement toward liberation and wellness.

This is not just a conference.
It is a cultural revival.
A return to community.
A renaissance of Black birth.
