As we spend today reflecting on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. life and legacy, we’re reminded that justice is more than laws and policies, it’s well-being. Mental health and healing are central to Dr. King's dream, where everyone has the right to care, community, and peace of mind.
19.7% of Black and African American adults have experienced a mental health condition within the past year. The Black community continues to face inequality in their access to quality mental health treatment. Black and African American adults are less likely to receive mental health treatment then white or multiracial adults. (SAMHSA)
