Community LIFE McKeesport Center held a Victorian Tea led by dietitian, Cindy. She explained the etiquette of the day and how ladies spent their day. This included the proper way to drink tea, gossiping while they ate tea sandwiches and how they dressed in that era. She also told the participants about Victorian tea superstitions, one is that “if you put milk in your tea before sugar it means to cross the path of love but never to marry.” She also explained the history of afternoon tea. The participants were able to choose between seven different kinds of flavored tea and were served raspberry cookies.

At Community LIFE, we understand that caring for a loved one is both rewarding and demanding. That’s why we’re dedicated to supporting caregivers every step of the way through education and compassionate care coordination. Our team partners with caregivers to ensure their loved ones receive the highest level of care while helping them find balance, relief, and peace of mind. This month, and every month, we celebrate and thank the caregivers who make independence possible for the participants we serve.

The Community LIFE Supportive Care Team recently spent the morning volunteering in the Gardens of Hope Grows . They are an incredible organization serving family caregivers through counseling, support groups, a respite house, time in nature and more. We helped to prepare some of their gardens for the fall season. It was a great morning of giving and receiving for our Team! Team Building. Replenishing our souls to continue to serve others.
