POWER staff attended a memorial service last weekend for Sister Mary Victor Powers, SC, the former principal of Word of God Elementary School. Sr. Mary Victor was among those at St. Anselm’s who, from the beginning, welcomed POWER moving into their former convent building. POWER CEO Rosa Verdiglione remembers that whenever they met, Sr. Mary Victor never failed to ask about how POWER clients were doing, and she demonstrated her concern by encouraging the school children to make Christmas and Easter gifts for POWER House residents. She also asked the residents to volunteer in the school cafeteria, making the women proud to have her trust. We will always be grateful for all she has done for POWER.

Walk-in assessments are available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at the POWER office at 907 West Street, Second Floor, Pittsburgh 15221.

The office opens at 8:30 am.
