There’s no quick fix in speech therapy.

Progress doesn’t come from one perfect session. It comes from showing up, practicing often, and building a relationship where your child feels safe to try, fail, and grow.

This is what we focus on. Not perfection, but steady progress with the right support.

In our sessions, play isn’t a break from the work. It is the work.

Play helps children stay engaged while building essential communication skills like:
• Following directions
• Naming and describing
• Practicing sounds and words
• Taking turns and using social language

The best part? Kids don’t even realize how much they’re learning.

Speech therapy is most effective when it feels natural, joyful, and connected—and that’s exactly what play brings to the table.

There’s nothing quite like hearing a child say a word for the very first time.

Whether it’s “mama,” “dog,” or a cheerful “uh oh,” these moments are huge milestones—and we celebrate every single one.

First words may be small, but they represent connection, confidence, and communication. And they’re always worth cheering for!

It’s known that *all* children benefit from visual supports within their environment, especially those who are struggling to acquire language.

AAC is a powerful tool that helps individuals express themselves, communicate effectively, and connect with the world around them. It’s not a last resort, but a tool within a robust toolkit that can be used within speech and language therapy to enhance communication skills.

Let’s recognize the value of AAC and provide equal opportunities for everyone to express themselves and reach their full potential! Join us for AAC Tip Tuesdays, where we’ll share invaluable insights for caregivers and teams to seamlessly integrate AAC into daily routines. Let’s make communication accessible for all!

Just a friendly reminder!

Hearing is essential for developing spoken communication skills. So, if your child is getting frequent ear infections, it’s good to be aware of this.

Hearing problems can be easily missed, and it’s one of the first things we do when a child starts speech therapy — check their hearing.

If for some reason your child missed the infant hearing screening at birth, be sure to have that completed, too.

✨tips to increase your child’s language skills ✨

⭐️ Narrate Everything - When you're cleaning the kitchen or giving them a bath, talk out loud about what you’re doing.
"Mommy is grabbing the cup and I'm going to pour milk in! Pour!"
⭐️ Repeat their words +1 word When your child says 2 words ("Car go!"), you add one more ("Car go FAST!") It gives them more context and teaches new vocabulary.
⭐️ Narrate their play just like narrating what you're doing all the time, talk about what they are doing during play.
⭐️ Read! Reading is important for language and vocabulary development. Even if your child prefers to read the same story every night, encourage them to turn the pages, retell it themselves, and talk about out pictures in the book
⭐️ Sing! ALL the time. Make up silly songs about what you're doing or what they're doing. You can even try singing their favorite songs and pausing to see if they fill in a word!
