Almost 5 years ago when I started this business I would have never imagined it would become what it is today. To say I am proud is an understatement and I owe it all to the amazing therapists who put up with my crap, the community for their endless support and to the clients who go along with our shenanigans and even join in (when we force them to). ☺️ Pictured are just few of the amazing people who have made my dream a reality!

As we continue to try to meet the needs of our local community, I am extremely excited to announce that we have welcomed a new team member to the OT department.

I am happy to say we are accepting new clients and currently have available after school time slots.

Please meet Kali!

Kali has a degree in Psychology and Community Studies from the University of Maine at Machias and a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Husson University. After completing Husson’s OT program in 2024, Kali accepted a job in early intervention where she has worked for the last year. She is very excited to continue expanding her knowledge working with children in an outpatient setting and begin her journey with FFT. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family. She also enjoys hiking, reading, traveling, and baking

Say hello to Amanda. Amanda joins the FFT team with 16 years of OT experience! Read her bio below and get to know her.

Amanda graduated from Kennebec Valley Community College in 2009 with an associate’s degree in the Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Amanda spent the last 16 years working in skilled nursing and inpatient rehab facilities in local hospitals. Amanda became certified as a Stroke Rehabilitation Professional in 2023. She is excited to continue expanding her knowledge and skill set working in a school-based setting in her local community. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys spending time with her 2 children and husband. She enjoys camping, taking trips to new and fun places, swimming, boating, and snow tubing in the winter months. She is excited to join the Function First Therapy team and provide quality care and laughter to clients in the community.

As we continue to grow and expand our services I would like to introduce Allie. Allie started her journey here at FFT as a PTA student and we just couldn't let her go!

Allie graduated from the Physical Therapy Assistant Program at Kennebec Valley Community College in 2025. Prior to becoming a PTA she worked as a rehab aide in the hospital setting. Allie is excited to start her career here at Function First Therapy as she helps patients meet their goals. Outside of being a PTA Allie enjoys spending time with friends, family and her husky Luna while exploring Maine’s outdoors.
