Struggling doesn’t make you weak. Needing support doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you.
The Office of Behavioral Health Prevention and Promotion is built on the idea that we all go through difficult moments.
Even things we might not recognize as signs of behavioral health troubles might be something to talk to someone about: changes in sleep or appetite, fatigue that doesn’t quit, or even just being a bit more irritable than you’re used to.
And support comes in many forms: a trusted friend, a community member, a family elder, or a provider who meets you with care and without judgment.

Even if everything seems fine on the outside, some days can feel heavier than others. The perfect words, a diagnosis, or a breaking point can feel like its own burden.
Finding help, especially when you’re not sure what’s not quite right, can be a challenge. Support can start by connecting with someone you trust, family, friends, or your doctor. That one connection can be the beginning of feeling more grounded, more understood, and more in control.
But when you need more than friendly help, visit the Office of Behavioral Health Promotion and Prevention for resources at Getting help when you need it | Mass.gov

Parenting doesn’t come with a manual. It’s okay to ask for support.
Your child’s mood, energy, or attitude could be improved using tools and resources from the Office of Behavioral Health Promotion and Prevention.
Talking to another parent, a loved one, or your child’s doctor can help. Free preventive behavioral health services are available for youth from birth through age 21, even without a diagnosis.

Recovery Is Always in Season

There’s no perfect time to focus on recovery—but today can be a powerful one. Every step forward counts, no matter how small.

Why talk about mental health? Because mental health is more than the absence of illness, it’s our ability to cope with stress, learn, work, and contribute to our communities. It’s just as important as physical health, and the two go hand in hand.
Yet many of us find it easier to talk about a sprained ankle or a doctor’s visit than to say, “I’ve been anxious about this conversation” or “I’m feeling overwhelmed.”
It’s normal to feel hesitant, but talking about mental health matters. These conversations:
• Help people feel less alone
• Make it easier to ask for and receive support
• Normalize the ups and downs we all experience
• Break down stigma that keeps people from seeking help
A simple conversation can make a big difference.
