Our hospitals offer advanced imaging and lab services and are closely integrated with the specialty care provided at the BMC Cancer Center. Berkshire Visiting Nurses Association (BVNA), BHS Urgent Care Center, and the BHS medical group network of primary and specialty care providers extend our continuum of expert care beyond the hospital. As the largest employer in Berkshire County, BHS supports more than 4,000 jobs in the region, and, as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, BHS is committed to partnering with local municipalities and community organizations to help the county thrive.

When you’re not feeling well, Berkshire Health Systems Urgent Care is there for you with three locations across the Berkshires. 🏥

With locations in Pittsfield, Lenox, and Williamstown, Berkshire Urgent Care provides our patients with convenient access to care for minor illnesses and injuries. Our on-site lab and X-ray services allow us to give patients their results in minutes, so they can begin the healing process.

If you’ve spent any time on the inpatient units or in the ED, you’ve probably seen Jill Johnson from the Outpatient Care Management team. As our Inpatient Community Health Worker, she plays a key role in helping patients transition safely from the hospital back into the community.

Jill works with our ACO Medicaid patients who often face complex medical, social, and behavioral health challenges. She has a natural ability to make patients feel seen and supported, even in their most difficult moments. She helps them navigate housing concerns, food insecurity, transportation needs, medication access, and reconnecting with medical and behavioral health care providers upon discharge.

What truly stands out about Jill is her follow-through. She’s consistently willing to go the extra mile to advocate for our patients. She is always willing to make additional calls, coordinate care across teams, and ensure details don’t fall through the cracks. Her work embodies our CARE values: compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence.

Jill’s presence in the hospital has strengthened our ability to support high-risk patients, and we’re grateful for the steady, compassionate care she brings to every interaction.

Sprint into spring with BHS's Berkshire 150 program! 🏃‍♀️ Berkshire 150 is a community wellness program that promotes exercise over 5 weeks, with the goal of at least 150 minutes of exercise per week.

Berkshire 150 runs from Sunday, April 19, to Saturday, May 16. Individuals can register at any time, even after the program starts. All participants submitting a minimum of 150 minutes of exercise for each of the 4 weeks will also be entered in a random drawing for $50 gift cards.

The draw station team in the MAC building brings the festive spirit for every holiday, and St. Patrick’s Day was no exception. The team went all in with cheerful decorations and proudly wore their best green uniforms to celebrate.

To make sure our patients could join in, the team handed out festive necklaces and stickers. The energy was contagious; patients responded with big smiles, lots of enthusiasm, and plenty of laughter as the station turned a routine visit into a moment of fun.

One of the upstairs departments even stopped by to say the draw station outdid them this year (and yes, there is a little friendly competition!). Thank you all for your wonderful teamwork and for the excellent, compassionate patient care you deliver every day.
