For each word-of-mouth referral, Movement Rx will make a $10.00 donation. In December, we supported ROC E6. is a non-profit youth lacrosse organization based in Rochester, that focuses on empowering inner-city student-athletes. Founded in 2005 by Arkee Allen and Art Alvut, the organization celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2025.

The name E6 represents the program's six core pillars: Empowerment, Education, Exposure, Exercise, Equity, and Ethics. 🥍

Family is important, especially as the Mom! We see mom's who have put everyone else first for years, as they suffer, often silently. The problem is that pain is a limiting factor in being the best version of you! If it's hard to hold your head up to read to your kids, or that family ski/ snowboard trip doesn't sound fun anymore as the body will end up in a painful place, who is going to take care of you? Pain can create a lot of fear. First, it hurts. Then there is the impact on one's life. It's hard to live your "normal life" when you're struggling to walk, go upstairs, or get out of the car.

I get it, we want the pain to be gone yesterday. In order to make the knee pain go away the problem or diagnosis, and the treatment tactic need to be a match for getting results, restoring function, reducing pain, and allowing one to get back to "normal life".

Unfortunately, a lot of people get "cookie cutter" medical protocol without a tissue specific diagnosis. The treatment does not match with the problem/diagnosis and the results never show, or stay when returning to "normal life".

Our treatment tactics for knee pain are varied and successful, as movement, and our palpation of the knee identifies the problem that needs to be fixed. We use Adhesion Release Methods, Instrument Adhesion Release, Radial Pressure Wave Therapy and/or functional exercise prescription. Our goal is to fix everything that can be fixed, restoring function, reducing pain, and have a strategy for load mechanics to keep knees healthy. As you feel better the fear naturally reduces as well as the concern about whether one needs to go into the operating room/under the knife.

Take action now, before pain becomes significant wear and tear, and the fear of how to get this fixed takes hold.

Try THIS! Can your arms touch your head? If not, why?

Is it neck posture, an injured shoulder, nerve entrapment, or all three?

If your neck posture is forward, it’s HARD to move your shoulder. The foundational mechanics are altered and the movement is restricted.

When you have altered shoulder mechanics, the shoulder blade hikes up, as it “cheats” or compensates to accomplish the movement. This is a big problem on your neck, as the shoulder hikes it increases the compressing force your neck.

Our neck discs and joints don’t like compression. Our neck is important, and when joints and discs are compressed they break down at a faster rate, increasing the chance pinching a nerve, rupturing a disc, or muscles entrapping nerves.

When we address a neck or a shoulder problem, we need to look a the bigger picture of how your whole upper body is working. When we do our Movement Analytix evaluation on all of our cases, we check this so we know all the factors that we need to address to help you get back to living life pain free.
