Our first session of The Moths Come to Ciel at Platinfield was a wonderful success! We welcomed the 4-year-olds from KLA Schools, who will now join us monthly for these special storytelling visits. ❤️

This month’s themes were Kindness for International Kindness Day and Gratitude for Thanksgiving. While our residents shared heartfelt stories on theme, our young guests took a more creative route—with tales of ghosts, T-Rex vs. Triceratops battles, and Santa Claus adventures!

Though they started out shy, the kids quickly found their voices, and we all ended the session laughing together—especially during our final question: “Besides turkey, what’s your favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner?” Answers included everything from broccoli to pizza to chicken nuggets with mustard!

We wrapped up with a sweet group photo of everyone flapping their “moth wings.”

Next month, the children will return for a special holiday visit, where the 3- and 4-year-olds will perform their holiday concert for us—and we have a surprise waiting… Mrs. Santa Claus will greet them by the fireplace!

We’re already looking forward to our January and February sessions, and can’t wait to welcome our little neighbors back.

At Ciel at Plainfield, honoring our veterans is more than a one-day celebration. The month, we hosted a special brunch that quickly became a meaningful meet-and-greet. Several of our veterans had just moved in, which made the gathering even more special.

John brought plenty of smiles with his “Dancing Uncle Sam” entrance for each veteran. Loren, a WWII and Korean War veteran, joined us after being the guest of honor at his great-granddaughter’s school, and Frank headed out afterward to be celebrated at his great-granddaughter’s school as well.

We are grateful for all of our veterans: Frank, John, Rudy, Richard, Wilma (Willie), Loren, and Walt. Thank you for your service. 🇺🇸
