The eye area is often one of the first places patients notice signs of aging. For some, that may mean fine lines and crow’s feet. For others, it can present as heaviness of the upper eyelids or brows that have gradually descended over time.
In this video, Dr. Neena Will, double board-certified plastic surgeon, explains the difference between Botox and Blepharoplasty when treating the eye area.
Many patients have previously tried Botox to soften crow’s feet or create a subtle brow lift. For individuals with mild early aging, Botox can be a great option to relax the muscles that contribute to wrinkles and help maintain a refreshed appearance.
However, when patients begin to develop excess eyelid skin or noticeable heaviness from brow descent, Botox alone may not fully address the concern. In these cases, an upper eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) and, in some situations, a brow lift may provide a more complete and long-lasting improvement.
During consultation, Dr. Will carefully evaluates the eyelids, brow position, and overall facial balance to determine the most appropriate treatment approach. The goal is always natural, refreshed results that help patients look more rested and confident.
