Indyroots

Indyroots Indyroots is a massage and Cranial Sacral therapy practice for families and individuals at the intersection of Neurodivergence and trauma healing.

Indyroots provides Massage and Cranial Sacral therapy on the Westside of Indianapolis. Indyroots is dedicated to providing a safe, healing environment for all with an emphasis on those navigating trauma-recovery, chronic pain, dysautonomia, and nervous system dysregulation. Rachel Heinbaugh is a licensed massage therapist who facilitates therapeutic somatic healing through a trauma-informed, neurodivergence aware lens. Cranial Sacral, Energy work, and physical touch are all conduits for this healing process. Rachel’s focus is on families and building capacity for touch and somatic attachment. Though anyone can benefit from this therapeutic approach, individuals with C-PTSD and PTSD are directly impacted by this bottom-up style of body therapy. Rachel will work individually with you, but can also collaborate with a therapy team for the client to receive care from multiple approaches.

Finally went to Cataract Falls to walk behind the frozen falls! The metaphor for Cranial Sacral Therapy kept jumping out to me- Whether our nervous system is in a freeze mode or in fight/flight- Cranial Sacral Therapy meets the body at its current capacity and helps to regulate the "waters" as they thaw and flow. Homeostasis will look different for each person! If you are interested in experiencing immediate calm and then a lingering sense of "settledness" book a session today! If you are in Indianapolis, check out my booking link. If you are in another city/state, search "cranial sacral therapy" and your state to see which practitioners are near you!

Welcome new followers - I have been on a brief online hiatus for personal reasons, but am back! A little about me- I am a licensed massage therapist, I do bodywork from a trauma-informed, sensory-integrative, neurodivergent immersed lens. I provide Cranial Sacral Therapy and can help navigate Somatic Attachment Integration. My credentials are "life" (personal experiences, raising a beautiful family that involves navigating ADHD, ASD, ODD, PTSD, BPD on a daily basis), N.A.R.M. Informed Professional (Neuro-Affective Relational Model that works with those who have C-PTSD), wrote a book "Raising Starfish" (which addresses connective strategies for childhood dissociation), Somatic Attachment Coach, Extensive Cranial Sacral training (including Somatic Emotional Release and am in process to become an "official" Cranial Sacral therapist), Licensed Massage Therapist. I currently am participating in a Breathwork certification and this week I am excited to experience a Neurotraining Conference.

All this to say: I live and walk this integrative life. Where my body feels pain, and I have to remind my tendons to relax and do exercises to remind them where they exist in space. I am not diagnosed with EDS but fit much of the criteria, as do some of my children. or where I have a flashbacks and have several of my own trusted bodyworkers who hold space with me, ask my body what it needs/wants and help to facilitate reconnection. It took me many years to experience bodywork in a way that made sense to my body.

At my office, your experience is tailored to you. Whether that is your allergies and sensitivities. Whether that is building your capacity to reach a goal you may have. Whether that is simply saying, "I just want a basic massage today"- your consent and choice is paramount to the process.

I encourage all new clients to schedule a zoom or phone call first in order to ask questions and ensure you feel comfortable with me. The first session will involve some information from you, but also me listening to your body. We always move at the pace your body decides. I work with children, teens, and families. My office and I are safe people regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, identity, and experiences. I strongly understand that nervous system regulation in our world does not mean feeling "calm" all of the time. Rather it is having safe spaces to re-calibrate, before we enter and exist in spaces that may not celebrate our existence.

If you have questions, feel free to message this page or to go to www.indyroots.com to look at my current offerings, schedule a consult or session, or send a question. I am also located on instagram and tiktok.
